I have my Fuji set into a customized film simulation called Kodak Portra 400, basically what it does it it's just a bunch of adjustments in the camera so when you take it, it already has an "edited" look. Kinda like filters I guess.
This is how it looks like straight out of the camera.
But what I did with my photos is I still edited them in Capture One and brought the highlights down so I can see the details in the sky more (in some photos the skies where too bright so you don't see much clouds.
On the left is the pic straight from the camera and right is the edited version.
And then I decreased the exposure a bit down and increased the shadows and made the photo just a little bit warmer. And that's it, since the film simulation in the camera does most of the color grading for my taste. :D
I think this may be the closest tutorial I've seen for editing.
What a superstar. Thank you so much for that. It's funny you mentioned Kodak as the photos did remind me of 90s style film shots when we used Ektacolour400 etc.
