You are right and sadly the crime stats are also rising day by day. If that doesn't get controlled the future will turn dark for many.
As long as it's the correct action as so may are grabbing at straws to survive. This Covid thing has damaged the country far more than we know.

When people are hungry crime syndicates use them as another means to an end, security along with most other state entities no longer function.
Covid has done damage under draconian laws of Dlamini-Zuma gang, time to dismantle powers given and change back. Country was up the creek without a paddle before covid hit!
Perhaps 2024 change of balance in power would be a great step forward as well.
SA has many crime syndicates at work her that are connected and they flourish. Our security systems are a farce and yes, we are in deep trouble.

History shows to beware of sudden changes and to be hones, I don't see the leader that we need at this stage. One that will not try to please everyone, but that would follow a road of de-construction to set this country onto the development road again.
Worldwide problem, leaderless with no direction, our predicament is all the more evident knowing what we know.
Indeed and there is trouble in many countries, so our situation is not unique.
Everyone is out to make quick bucks out of what we call democracy and communism is also not the answer. Military coups also result in disaster and a new answer should be investigated. Crypto might make a lot of difference in the financial context, but the status quo are clinging to their bucks.

Looking beyond cryptocurrencies, blockchain for documented safekeeping, in many ways able to be used especially voting, births and deaths registrations, home ownership, list goes on.
There will always be those with and those without, that is reality of life.
