Join me today as we walk around a 16th century country home: BURGHLEY HOUSE, a walk over its LION BRIDGE and further over the ESTATE.UNITED KINGDOM ๐ฌ๐ง Its location is in #STAMFORD ~

I will follow the time stamps on them. So it looks like you are experiencing my #adventures on this #walk, to ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป #discover everything what I saw, like the little #details seen through my eyes.

It is just next to the cute market town of Stamford I showed you recently.

Let me show you what I saw on this walk now:
After we parked our car we walk towards this #magnificent house. It is gated with some stunning details.
Reaching through the gates to photograph, we get these views ๐ imagine how old this building is. Just wow!
You can also visit the inside of this house and explore its rooms and history. I have done so beforeโฆ but todayโฆ we go for a walk outside, around the house, its estate ๐
We are walking over the paths, I look back after a while and see this view. It is just stunning. Today it was overcast and some rain clouds will come soon. Luckily we didnโt get wet ๐
A little bit further I discover some cannons that were standing in the distance. Letโs check out what that is all about.
I capture this photoโฆ the sky fits perfectly with the cannons.
Looking further we see they are also building up a large podium. Something very cool is happening soon here. So we canโt walk everywhere.
Letโs walk towards the bridge we see:
Looking back we see Burghley House in the distance.
We see a sign with more information about the BRIDGE we are soon crossing. They restored it in 2022.

It is soooo stunning and mesmerising ๐ let me show you what I meanโฆ when I say I am mesmerised by itโs details.
We enter through the gate.
On the right of us we see a path going across the river:
This path is used by horses in an annual 3 day event/ competition : THE BURGHLEY HORSE TRIALS. See Horse trials ๐ for more information
A worldwide well known large event ; โGrand slam of Eventingโ. Source!
Walking to the other side of the bridge ๐

Looking at detailsโฆ we go down. ๐
My favourite photo of the day: one of the #lions ๐ฆ that are guarding the bridge. The sky is perfect here too, to get a #moody picture ๐ธ
The lions ๐ฆ are on 4 corners of the bridge.
The lion ๐ฆ on the other side. They are very mesmerising, donโt you think?
We go back and walk further over the estate now. Still areas we can not enter and we walk further around it.
All of this and the cannons are part of the BATTLE PROMSโฆ a #concert with a #picnic and sometimes also a firework ๐ display.
As we walk further we see this sign:
The #trees are indeed #ancient on this estate. So people do need to watch out for falling branches. Most of them have a wire around themโฆ probably the ones that lose the most branches ๐ณ๐ณ๐ณ๐ชต

It is hard to capture how tall and thick they are.

We are getting closer to the house again.

On a bench we see a #gardener ๐จโ๐พ #sleeping ๐ค
We decided to get some coffees โ๏ธโ๏ธ, well deserved after this long walk ๐
Nice to see they are thinking about the #bees ๐
Looking around at this little coffee shop and outside space:
Many flowers around us that attract bees ๐๐๐
I capture this #bee gathering nectar and pollenโฆ in the last moments that we spend on this estate.

I am on the road again. Traveled all day yesterday to the UK from 4:30 am to 22:00 in the evening. Car, taxi, 2 planes and a train and a pick up with a carโฆ.
Tomorrow we go further and drive to a port but stay overnight as it is to far in one day. Monday we are in Ireland and Wednesday back to Scotland hahaha we fly home the 9th again. Busy busyโฆ

The football grounds are called stamford bridge but that is located in the city of London. So not in this town.
