Our winter has many flowers and I grow vegetables like spinach, cabbage and peas and on pleasant days, its 18-20C at midday an 3-5C at night. From time to time the antarctic sends us a polar weather system and then temps drop to minus degrees at night and 9-12 during the day but fortunately that doesn't last about a week at a time, it's only seriously cold for about 2 months. I'm sure that sounds like summer to you but we find it highly unpleasant

I don't but some people do. I try to keep the electricity bill lower and I find that extra clothes usually are enough
