It was nice to read that the only personal damage you suffered was a destroyed mailbox. One doesn't realize how dependent we are on power until something like this happens. I lost power for a handful of days as well some months back and I been thinking about preparing a small solar system ever since. Nothing fancy but One that can run a heater and a hotplate when needed would suffice.

Yes we were quite grateful that we didn't have any damage. Nothing like the first day power is back on 🙂
