Mildenhall is interesting. At least in theory there are V-22 Osprey's stationed there. The only time I actually saw the Osprey out of Mildenhall was when they were around London during Obama's visit. Military airframes have such long development cycles and operational lifetimes, that it always makes you feel old when one goes away. Harriers, Tornados and the Vulcan all made me sad that I wouldn't see them anymore.

Living in Lincoln we had Vulcans at Waddo to the south and Scampton to the north. Like you, I was gutted when they were retired. Never saw many Harriers but always loved to see then when I did get the chance. So many good aircraft gone.
