While browsing the gallery, I came across photos from last year when my older son turned an important and significant 18 years old, the age when he became an adult and can decide for himself what he wants to do in life independently, without having to ask anyone. It is also the day when he can take his driving test and have his own car, his own apartment, his own job, his own life.
We decided to celebrate that day at a restaurant called "Bonic," which belongs to a friend who gave me a substantial discount, making it cheaper than celebrating at home, where we would have to buy everything ourselves and then clean up afterward.
There were 18 of us at the birthday, which included close family and a few friends.
For starters, we had chicken soup and black risotto.
The main course was veal cooked under the bell with potatoes, and it was incredibly delicious, melting in our mouths.
Of course, there was also homemade bread made by the owner himself, brushed with olive oil—perfect.
After that, we had prosciutto and cheese, accompanied by green and black olives.
Following all this, it was time for cake and pastries.
One cake was bought by my wife's sister, and the other one we bought ourselves, according to our design.
We wanted it to be beautiful but not too ordinary, and that's how it turned out.
They were so cute.
We asked for a half-and-half, one half was forest fruits and chocolate, and the other half of the cake was nougat.
The other cake, which my sister-in-law bought, was also perfect and was made of vanilla and chocolate with pieces of strawberry.
We made the pastries ourselves, and each family member brought at least one tray of pastries, so there was more than enough.
We were supposed to have live music, with a friend playing the accordion, but unfortunately, his grandmother passed away two days before. Even though she was very old, 97 years, he
wanted to come and play, but I said it wouldn't be appropriate, so we played music from a mobile phone on a Bluetooth speaker.
After a bit of eating and drinking, everyone, of course, wanted to dance a little.
It was one of those beautiful and unforgettable days that are remembered for a lifetime.
Thank you my friend 🤗
