Here are ten more random photos for this #tuesdayten
Here is some South Indian street food known as dosas. They are sort of like a spicy crepe that you tear off little bits to dip in various sauches and chutney. This restaurant lists this as the three idiots based off a popular hindi movie.
Here is Lake Michigan a few years ago during a summer sunset. This is way up North in Wisconsin in the upper peninsula. It is a great place to visit during summer and pretty rough during the winter up there.
Here is a shot off a historic bridge that leads to a local college where I had a project. I turned the saturation down to make it seem more vintage.
Now its time for a rodent break. Here is Higgs the ham eating a persimmon, he really liked the outer skin off the persimmons not the inner fruit so much.
Here's yet another rodent. This chipmunk squeaked loudly and scrambled up the tree to look at me. They are quite wild out in the forest, but around the houses they are tame and will sometimes take food out of your hand.
The deer around here are quite tame as well since hunting doesn't happen until you get really far out in the rural areas. I have some other photos of this guy later on in the year where he got a few more points on his antlers.
This is a spiny orb weaver making a new web. There are 119 different spiny orb weaver species and they all have a similar shape with spikes coming off their backs. They are harmless but I often end up collecting their webs all over me while walking through the forest.
Now for some bird action. The red winged black birds hate anything that comes near their nests like this great egret. I suspect a great egret would love to eat their eggs or a baby chick so the male red winged black birds have to attack and drive them away from their territory.
I almost walked past this quiet little green heron. It was probably holding still to try and catch a fish this gave me a perfect opportunity to get a decent zoom lens photo. I've only seen a few of them in scenarios like this, usually they fly off instantly.
This is a favorite spot of mine to observe water birds and sunsets. Here there is only one tiny grebe off in the distance as a silhouette and the sun stole the show because it was so humid.
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
I think red winged blackbirds are just paranoid haha Always overly agressive attacking everybody 🙄 Nice shot of the green heron. I had to google that little guy. I thought I figured out all the herons when I lived in California but I guess I missed that one.
I thought the green heron was a bittern at first but those are way more rare. I've been attacked a few times by the red wings, I always try and catch them as they dive bomb, so far unsuccessfully.
I've really been enjoying your random tuesday ten posts!

Hi Higgs!
Poor higgs finally passed away after 3 years earlier this year. Time to get another one.
😢
3 years is a long time for a hamster.
Yeah he was my oldest hamster ever, I think blueberries and avocado contributed to his lifespan lol. Next ham will definitely have a nice diet like that again.
He also seemed like he had a good time and lots of enriching activities, like exploring.
Haha he got out a few times and explored the whole house overnight, then I had to make a clicking sound to call him out into the open.
Yay! 🤗

I need a replacement for Higgs, he finally kicked the bucket earlier this year after close to three years.
Oh bummer, I must have missed that post. Sorry to hear. :((
It was a nice camping summer sunset.
