Sublime and Beautiful Sunday at the zoo

Sublime and Beautiful Sunday at the zoo

This post is for #SublimeSunday is inspired by @c0ff33a and #BeautifulSunday is initiated by @ace108.

For this week I was wonderign what to share and remembered i had some shots from a visit to the Buttonwood Park zoo that I thought would fit will for both the Sublime and beautiful challenges, so I looked for shots of some of my favorite animals from this zoo

Starting with these couple of otters, often they are hard to get shots of swimming around in the little poool they have there, often under the water or coming up in spot with too much shadow to get ok shots of them, but on this visit they popped up onto this rock and posed nicely

A little bit about the zoo

The Buttonwood Park Zoo, located in New Bedford, Massachusetts, United States, is a seven-acre zoo located in the center of Buttonwood Park. It is owned and operated by the City of New Bedford, with the support of the Buttonwood Park Zoological Society. The zoo opened in 1894 as a deer park and menagerie

The zoo is located in the center of Buttonwood Park. Opened in 1894, it is the third-oldest zoo in New England and the 12th-oldest zoo in the United States. Located on a 7 acres (2.8 ha) campus, the zoo is owned and operated by the City of New Bedford, with the support of the Buttonwood Park Zoological Society. It is located on part of the Buttonwood Park Historic District, and federally designated on the National Register of Historic Places.

The zoo is home to more 250 different animals made up of more than 80 different species of animals, including many that are rare and endangered

Next up this red panda, they are so cute but again not always easy to get shots of, this day one was posing right up by the wire mesh fence not ideal for gettign a shot and being able to focus so the wire mesh didnt show so not the best of shots, but he sure fits into my favorite animals at the zoo list

one of the two bears there, they are also not always easy to get shots of, the times I have been there they have been running around and teasing each other which is cool to watch, but not always easy to get shots of through the perspex or glass windows they have as they are often messy with peoples sticky hand prints

Otters look very compact for photoshoots, but they are defeated by the charm of super cute pandas.

Great shots! I love otters, cute little animals! You found some animals willing to be photogenic there, great shot of the bear and the bob cat. The red pandas are always fun to see as well. It's nice having a small zoo nearby isn't it?

Yeah I haved enjoyed popping to this zoo a few times htis year, made good use of my season membership LOL

Awww, the otters are so cute!

arent they :)

Lo mejor de ir al zoológico es ver animales que nunca crees q verás

You got some great shots of the animals. I went to our zoo last week and will share the event soon. 😉

thanks and look forward to seeing your zoo visit

Nice shots 👍 otters and eagle were my favorites. We occasionally have eagles at our small lake but they tend to hang out at the bigger bodies of water around here.

Oh, these smaller ones are all so great! But I liked the red panda the most☺️

The otters, bear and the American bald eagle are at their best because no view obstruction from the wire mesh

indeed i prefer getting shots without the wirse and mesh showing

Cheers and !BEER
