Opening packs or buying fans?

ALL I NEED IS.jpg

Good morning my dear friends!

Today I felt like...opening packs. It's common sense to buy fans directly from the market. Thanks to the tool developed by @foxon (https://rsglikeafox-awzjsbfoyq-uk.a.run.app/shop/fans) it's way easier to buy the floor for fans.

Right now I could buy

or 12 packs for 100K STARBITS.

Let's see how many fans do we get in those 12 packs. I'll be doing this every week of the month until I realize that buying bulk fans is better than opening pack. It's amazing how can be trade logic for fun.

I got 1120 new fans

On the bright side, I was able to catch one epic microphone.

I don't know if selling it (18k SB in the market rn) or just keep it as collectible. Also, I have new cards so my ranking keeps stabilizing.

What do you think is better, buying bulk fans or opening packs?

Sort:

There is a slight flaw in @foxon's app. Indeed, it gives the number of fans of a card without however associating it with the number of skills. This can be annoying when making purchases because the price is not really that of the fan, you have to check on another market the complete card statistics. For this to be valid, it would be necessary to list only the cards of the market having only fans, or only skills, or only lucks.

I am currently doing a series of posts on Rising Star where I develop certain notions apparently still misunderstood by many players, old or new.

You can take à look to my blog .
For me, it is better to buy cards on the market. The purchase of packs is done at certain times and not systematically.

Yep - no skills, luck, nor IM. There are a lot of other factors for card value too. Rarity, distribution, art, and history can all play a role in a card's value. The features deployed on my app now are just for the bulk purchase of those stats you find in the menu. It's not meant to be a comprehensive look at card value. I do hope to add historical sale prices for each card soon, and that would be more helpful for card valuation (but still not a complete picture)

Yes of course .

This was not a criticism, the job is well done ;) .

I just stress the fact that you have to check the complete stats elsewhere, on NftMart for example.

A bulk of 1250 fans does not necessarily interest me if it brings me at the same time 1000 skills while I am looking for balanced cards at the ego level, or other cases.

Congratulations again and thank you for this work.

Thank you for the answer .

Thank you! I am glad you see value in it. There is so much more I want to do

I think the stats issue is even worse in skill shopping - you might end up gaining 500 skill and 1000 fans 😆 this would surely be problematic. In the case of skill, I should probably add a "net skill gain" (skill - fans)

Perhaps adding all the stats and their rolling total would be helpful for gaining a more complete picture. That would then guide future updates

If I may, I fully agree with that ... 🙂

Packs are way more fun!

as to your question on buying individual cards, or packs of cards, I've done some of both. The main reason I have purchased individual cards is to also increase the skills more than fans so I can balance the two and reduce Ego. I also purchase individual cards so as to get cards that no longer drop from packs. With packs, it is a blind draw, but it is also better to if you get lucky for a couple of Epics, and a mix of other cards. Plus it is the best way to get the Seasonal cards used in the seasonal events.
