Whats The Best Booster Card in RisingStar?

in Rising Star Game3 years ago

Card Thumbnail .png

Hello fellow musicians today I'm going to share my opinion on the best booster cards in rising but I have a certain criteria that I'm going off:

  1. What The Card Is used For
  2. The Market Cost For Said Card
  3. How useful is in different stages of the game (note I'm on local so It may be a bit biased)

And Please Keep in mind that this is my opinion if you have anything wrong with the tier list please say it in the comments.

F-Tier

The F-tier consists of cards that don't really do much for a player, but only have some us in part of the game and are basically useless due some other cards doing the same thing but better.

Fan Boosters

image.png

I'm mentioning all variants of fanboost in this one because this booster may seem great for earlier players but there are better alternatives in the form of people cards that are much cheaper and serve the exact same purpose as the card and have better benefits. Right now you can get yourself a 100 fan boost for 35k starbits on the market as lowest price, while you could pick up the rare card Katie for 9.9k starbits which gives you: 100 fans, 175 skill, 5 luck, and 4 IM you could get all that for over 3x less the cost of the fan boost. It makes no sense finacially to buy this card that only gives a boost in fans when there a much better people cards who do nearly the same thing.

Skill Boosters

image.png

This has the same problem as the last card being useful to an extent, but same problem as the last card is that there are cheaper and better cards that do this cards job better than others. There is a person card named clive which gives 200 skill boost and the lost listing Is 1.1 hive compared the lowest listing of this card being 15 hive. again there are much cheaper alternatives for this card and skill can also be gained for free through music lessons it doesn't make much sense to buy this card with many ways to achieve skill in the game for cheaper than its lowest market price.

5 Minute Mission skippers

image.png

These cards actually have a unique purpose that effect the game by allowing you to skip an entire 5 minute mission. this sounds like a great card allowing you to fit 1 extra mission, but the biggest problem is the cost, Paula costs you 25 starpro (68.75 USD) and Kevin costs you 20 Starpro (55 usd) In my opinion these cards are only worth it if you're a music promoter or a Ugandan prince.

Music Lesson Skippers

image.png

These cards are really good in my opinion be able skip a 1 hour mission is insane thats an instant 120 xp but the biggest problem these cards face is the price tag at 300 starpro (A whooping 825 dollars) but in all honestly I would not pay that much just to get an instant 120 exp every 24 hours these cards only seem to be for the best music promoters.

D-Tier

Coffee Cup

image.png

The coffee cup stores coffee you find on your adventure to stardom, but coffee only increases your energy gain rate and the only use this seems to have is to help you get 1-2% you need for a mission without wasting your pizza slices. Pizza slices do the job better by getting your energy to 100% I don't see a use for this if you have Pizza slices and you're running 100% energy missions,

C-Tier

Risky Whiskey

image.png

This card allows you to keep the drunk fans you get from rng on quests. This card has a great effect but the reason it's so low on the list is because I don't think it has much use in lower levels in the game. The area I'm currently in is the local circuit tour the highest amount of drunk fans I've received at once was 1135 which seems worth the 5k starbits to buy but at this period of the game ego management is important. Later on when you can get hundreds of skill per music lesson and you can achieve lots of drunk fans from high level missions this seems more than worth it to pay 5k starbits.

B-Tier

Birthday Cake

image.png

This card is basically a better pizza slice being able use them twice a day but rather the biggest problem that lowest price for the card on the market is 100 hive, making it worst than pizza slices because with 100 hive your able to buy many pizza slices with 100 hive.

A-Tier

Pizza Boxes

image.png

These cards a must have to any player in the game, this allows you to store the cold pizza you obtain from your adventures being able to randomly have an energy boost for any mission. I have 2 due to the event being very uncommon. This booster is very good but isn't the best.

S-tier

Exp Boosters

image.png

These cards are insanely good for the sole purpose that they are the only card that can influence your xp gain in the game. These cards also scale to the mission you take as its not a direct addition making it beneficial to all types of missions. This is a Great card, but its a bit on the pricey side with lowest +10 boost being 20 hive.

Pizza Slices

image.png

Pizza slices are the best item in the game by allowing you to get a 100% energy boost every 24 hours. This card is vital to leveling up later in the game as the missions get more and more energy taxing. They are also very cheap on the market with the lowest sitting around 1 hive which is a great value for so much use.

If you have questions or any other opinions please post them in the comments bellow.

Great article - pretty much agreed on all counts - Cold Pizza Slice is definitely the best.

That is some great work! Thanks for posting it.
I like the pizza slices best as well. Haven't thought about EXP Boosters or Birthday cakes so far, since they are too expensive to me.

Also the Pizza Boxes have some great value!

Haven't put much thinking into the other boosters so far, since as you point out, they are usually not really of great value for their price - at least at my level and in my opinion.

Keep up the great work!

Cheers,
@andy-plays

The NFT based music career game built on HIVE
!PIZZA

Good write up. I agree on the XP boost value. Personally, I have several and it has sped up my levels considerably. I think 20 hive is VERY worth it. They are limited and discontinued, so one could easily buy one to use for awhile, and then sell it later for likely the same or higher price. However, I think it would be hard to sell, once you see the difference. Would be like getting off the highway, and driving super slow in traffic.

The birthday cakes are useful, of course, but they are super rare and very collectable. I own one as a rare collectable NFT, and also get to use it everyday.
