With this entry, I start a series about working in a very rewarding, profitable and satisfying job in the construction industry in Poland (with a pinch of salt, of course).

Personally, I am the manager of installation works - currently working on external water and sewage installations in a small company that employs a total of approx. 15 employees.
Tym wpisem rozpoczynam serię o pracy w jakże wdzięcznej, dochodowej i satysfakcjonującej pracy w branży budowlanej w Polsce (oczywiście z przymrużeniem oka).

Osobiście jestem kierownikiem robót instalacyjnych- w obecnej pracy instalacji wodnych i kanalizacyjnych zewnętrznych w małej firmie, która zatrudnia łącznie ok. 15 pracowników.
Episode 1 - storm sewer failure
Our company won a tender for the removal of a sewerage failure under the building of one of the ministries in Warsaw. The pipe burst and a lot of earth fell into the cracks, resulting in a small sinkhole.
Next, there are only attractions 😊
We excavated the pipe at a depth of 4.5 meters. By the way, we also discovered old brick walls and... a shelter (unfortunately without access). Additionally, water was happily leaking from the bricks, creating a huge swamp. In the meantime, we found out that this leaking water was not coming from the ground, but from a water connection failure. The failure was reported to the owner, who fortunately was able to turn it off - the building has two separate power supplies. Unfortunately, the swamp remains.
Odcinek 1- awaria kanalizacji deszczowej
Nasza firma wygrała konkurs ofert dla usunięcia awarii na kanalizacji pod budynkiem jednego z ministerstw w Warszawie. Rura pękła, w powstałe pęknięcia wpadło sporo ziemi co poskutkowało małym zapadliskiem.
Dalej to już same atrakcje 😊
Odkopaliśmy rurę na głębokości 4,5 metra. Przy okazji odkryliśmy też stare ceglane ściany oraz… schron (niestety bez dostępu). Dodatkowo ze wspomnianych cegieł radośnie wyciekała woda tworząc ogromne bagno. W międzyczasie dowiedzieliśmy się, że ta wyciekająca woda nie pochodzi z gruntu, ale z awarii przyłącza wody. Awaria została zgłoszona do gestora, który na szczęście mógł ją zakręcić- budynek posiada 2 oddzielne zasilania. Bagno niestety pozostało.
Fortunately, we managed to drain everything and find the fault. A section of PVC pipe between the building and the well needs to be replaced. Of course, there were moments of horror along the way, because we had a problem with fitting the transition fitting from a cast iron pipe to a PVC pipe (now it is made of PVC, in the past it was made of cast iron). Well, it worked. The whole thing took the 1st brigade a whole week of work.
Na szczęście udało się wszystko odwodnić i odnaleźć usterkę. Do wymiany odcinek rury z PVC pomiędzy budynkiem, a studnią. Po drodze oczywiście chwile grozy, ponieważ mieliśmy problem ze spasowaniem kształtki przejściowej z rury żeliwnej na PVC (teraz się buduje z PVC, kiedyś z żeliwa). No ale udało się. Całość zajęła 1 brygadzie cały tydzień pracy.
