The shift from working to not working and trying to find something to be productive and occupy our time is going to be the most significant disruptive force in our lifetimes.
I think too much convenience creates weak people and AI certainly made things or is in the process of making a lot of things convenient. AI just removes the joy of creating and effort to provide an outcome that becomes fulfilling. I'm not saying it's evil, it depends on how it's used but trying to make things convenient doesn't help one. I see generative AI art and think to myself, how much closer are the people doing this ever noticing the flaws in the rendering process?
Some parts of AI in use isn't in congruent with humanity if it means removing pieces of what makes a human which is living a life of labor and enjoying the outcome of that labor.
