I decided to quit smoking again. This isn’t my first attempt, and I hope it’s the last. I downloaded an app called Smoke Free, which I use whenever I try to quit. I found that it was still set to my previous quit date, almost a year ago, minus about ten days. That made me wonder how my life would have looked if I had stayed smoke free for nearly 12 months. The thought filled me with even more regret than usual.
A few months ago, I wrote an article where I said that, despite making many mistakes, some costing me months or even years, I never truly regretted them. Every mistake taught me valuable lessons, helping me grow. But I did mention one exception, smoking. I started at a really young age, and it completely destroyed my lungs, along with a lot of other things. It cost me more money than you could ever imagine. I have been smoking since grade six, so just think about how much that adds up to. If you calculate the total with a static interest rate of 6%, I have probably spent over 100,000 dollars. That might sound like an exaggeration, but I assure you, it is not. And when I say smoking, I do not just mean cigarettes, I have tried many other forms, including drugs.
Smoking is for sure a challenge a lot of people have! I thankfully don’t but I know it causes a lot of issues, as I’ve seen and know many people who do it and are addicted to it. The unfortunate part is the cigarette companies add lots of chemicals to MAKE it more addicting. That’s messed up!
Hopefully you can quit and the app helps!
Exactly, these chemicals make it not only a bad habit but a real addiction. Thank you so much, your comment means a lot to me!
