For sure it takes time, sweat and hopefully not but sometimes, tears, to build a Hive account. I was just reminiscing the other day in a comment with someone that I remember, and have screenshots, when back on the old chain I was at 0 staked power, with a small delegation. I was proud of the .2 power I had accumulated and some dollars in the account valuation area. Thinking of it today, would I have any idea those 4 years ago that I'd be holding 23,000 of those staked units?! Hell no! Lol.
I think some are too accustomed to the shitshow that is fakebook, twatter and the others out there. They are used to doing anything willy-nilly and then having no consequences for it. I bet those people who get on the other end of a down vote hammer or mute button end up quitting and going back to the shitshow that is fakebook. Their fault, I reckon.
I've had some really great people that I've started to interact with, new users here on the chain. Some weren't sure of how things go as far as etiquette so I am trying to help them understand what I can so that they can turn into what I think are exceptional people, time will only tell though. One dude doesn't speak good English and would give me the short "nice post" comment on my posts, I was gonna hit em with a snarky remark but I try to check them out first and then realized he didn't speak English but was powering up a bunch and only been here a few months so I'm glad I hesitated and gave him the benefit of the doubt! He seems like a builder for sure, so I'm hoping to foster him a bit and hope the seed takes in the ground.
It's fun to watch the rage quitters though, storming off like a petulant child.
I know what you mean, I look at my own stake at pushing on to 160,000 and think how bonkers it is, and how far away that seemed when I began in June 2017. I've not taken any out other than to trade, increase and put back so that helps, as well as curation rewards. 87K of author rewards and 26K of curation rewards over that time...numbers I couldn't even imagine back then.
The rage quitters are rather laughable right? The self-damage they do is of no consequence, but the damage they do as they exit the Hive community is there also, unfortunately. They go to other places and talk smack, always leaving out the details to suit their own ends, and damage occurs. Did you know I have my own tag on Blurt where they say disgusting things? I've not seen it as I never look at Blurt but have been told it's there. I don't care though, those people all deserve each other.
