RE: What is truth to you?

Truth is also certainly subjective. What is one truth to you may not be to me. I suspect though you’re speaking about truth in the form of a person and their interactions with someone. I think it’s important to be truthful to an extent. If a girl asked me if she was fat I would say not at all! In reality she may be quite fat but I don’t want to hurt her with that truth so you make a small lie. This can certainly get complicated but I think the point is, with certain things you have to be subjective and look at a truth in a way that’s not so black and white.

Yes truth is very subjective but I believe truth can be black or white, plain and simple. A girl who asks if she is fat, did so because she needs to know the truth. It's not our position to determine what we feel the other person wishes to hear. It's our position to say the truth regardless of how it might make them feel. You just might be surprised, telling her that she is fat may not even make her feel bad but might make her see the need to watch her weight whereas the little or small lie might make her continue to indulge in the habits that makes her fat. You see? Our duty is to speak the truth and leave what happens to the receiver. They may not admit it but later on, they would come to appreciate the truth.
