I opened this post thinking you were gonna rant about swimming. Never have I visited this little corner at HIVE. Today was the first time since I had to rant myself. Nice, you picked up something from the past. Hope you gonna make your goals. 100 yards is like 90 meters? Should be possible in 60 minutes... or am I missing something?
I used to swim in lakes, canals and rivers. When I was a kid, child, teenager age. Since then, hardly swim. Sometimes when on some beach but that doesn't happen too often. I usually stay in some chair when others do the proper beach thing. Maybe next time, I shall start building sandcastles again. Or something that kinda looks like a sandcastle.
For years am thinking to pick up drawing and oil painting again. Must be like 30 to 35 years ago I've done that last... except a few drawing attempts of which I shared one or two at HIVE over the last few years. Just a week or so ago I was reminded of my wish to start oil painting again through a conversation with someone from Serbia. The circumstances didn't change from a week ago though, I need to find the proper time and also find proper space to start messing around with oil paint again. I don't think this will happen anytime soon, but the more I think about it, the higher the chance I'm gonna actively search for solutions to the two things I mentioned: time and space.
Most swimming pools here are 25 meters long and to get that 100 meters or close to 100 yards, is 4x swimming through 25 meters. I did that today for about 30 minutes. However, when I first started it and at the moment this post was made, I was just starting and it was daunting. I was out of breath just by doing 25 yards. Now, after regularly swimming, that distance doesn't seem daunting anymore. I am less afraid of the water too and feeling a little less cold in the colder pool.
There's always time if you make it, that's what I believe. Maybe you don't need to dedicate full 60 minutes but 20 minutes at a time? If I don't make time, I guess I wouldn't be back into swimming. And good luck with your oil pointing, pretty sure you'll find the time and space.
This corner is pretty fun. I always post my talk/update and not so much rants here. I like the talking aspect of this community where we can have conversation and the content still readable even after 7 days. Hope to see you dropping by here often!
Ah cool, quickly you got in shape 🏊♀️
Time can always be found indeed. Just priorities needs to be set 🙃
Drawing for like 20 or 30 minutes is possible, but oil painting requires longer periods.
Seems I spend the time I could create on HIVE rather than on drawing though. I think I'll continue for the moment like this, but who knows what tomorrow brings 🥳
It's an interesting corner indeed and will also try the 'talk' side rather than the 'rant' side of things.
