Nihilism is the best liberator. Once you realise nothing really matters, you form a general idea of the things that do matter to you in the moment. Everything still leads to nothing, but you can shape a better existence through prioritising the totally worthless to the temporal idea of value. Whether it's realising browsing through your phone is a literal waste of life compared to at least spending that moment doing something fun like a hobby, or the people you associate with.

I think feeling that total sense of nihilism when I was younger really helped me somewhat grow out of it with a better defined sense of what's really important to me.

I totally agree with you on this. Many people thought (my old self included) that nihilism is a bad thing, but it's just actually a different perspective in life. It's just that it seems not to conform to the accepted norm on how we view life.

When my sister got sick, I was able to make rational decisions because I braced for the worst while my whole family became too positive. When the worst came, they were devastated while I alone decided on the necessary steps moving forward.
