would love to hear your ideas! got to remember most never heard about blockchain before

First of all, getting people to adopt blockchain is an uphill struggle 😁 I've been trying to do it for years and my sum total of success is one (semi)active user, although many have opened accounts. Now I've changed my approach, I've moved saying "join hive:earn crypto" and agreeing to almost anything to get people to join and thinking that's the first hurdle, once they're here we can build from that.

Now I say it's about building the future and it's not for everyone. There are opportunities to earn crypto, and it is a very low cost to join, if anything, and no one is required to put fiat into it. But really it is about investing in the future, creating new wealth, and being able to fund things which weren't possible before. And it takes time and patience.

I also focus on the governance and taking responsibility for your self and your future.

Your answer didn't show me how to educate before joining. I know the say "post and earn crypto" is a common driver, but I don't like it as it also attracts extractors and scammers. The ideal world would be people joining because it's fun, and earn crypto is a consequence. The users that join for the fun are easier to educate. Blockchain is already too complicated to explain, so I don't see how to educate before join in. I, personally, also had a very hard time onboarding new users, even family members. But skatehive has been pretty successful onboarding. So any successful onboarding of a real user is already a win.
skatehive.app is made by skaters for skaters, you can see that users are having fun in the platform. I think it's one of the only successful community frontends, where a lot of users don't even know about the existence of generic frontends (peakd, ecency, inleo) until much later on, they use exclusively skatehive.app. For example, they are not exposed to bad habits like buying votes (premium, delegations), making it easier to educate them to keep their stake for themselves instead of trading for votes, and then cash out. We have time to educate before they are exposed to bad habits. I believe we have much better chances of having positive contributors in the future this way.

Agree! So you're already going a great job!

join hive, earn crypto is a terrible campaign! It never worked for the last 8 years and it will not work.

The campaign should be:

join hive, learn crypto, explore an interest

I agree! That's why I changed my approach!
