I do love Puerto Rico, for that reason. It really is magic, the minute you step on to those sandy shores. You can almost hear the beat of salsa, the rhythm of the islands.
I can pick out the maracas, the predominant sound in the music. A few years back, I watched a man sitting outside of his house making a set from the fruit of the Higuera tree. I guess I live so far from a life like that, it always catches my interest.
