You always, always make such amazing posts for #MarketFriday! Thank you so much! Meeting up with family members is so exciting, isn't it? Those little kids are off and creating a life of their own. I find it interesting how much alike/different they do life than I did.
Le sigh.
The restaurant is so distinctive in its decor. What a great choice pretheater. Notoriously light fare offerings. I am always hungry later in the evening after Asian food, so that is a plus for me before the theater. Divided dishes allow me to see what I am actually eating! :) Although your husband's ramen looks good. I know you won't believe this, but, I have never eaten ramen. Not in a restaurant and not at home. I know... hard to believe, isn't it? Your trek to the theater from there was a visual delight, I love the city and I really love the flower boxes. My geraniums love them!
I don't like taking pictures in the theater either, especially after they make that announcement. I think you are safe with taking it before. :) I do appreciate people that understand the reasons behind it. You make me proud!! Not reading it before really is the way to go. By the time I saw the play, I had read the book and seen the movie... Definitely still a great show, but, I cannot help comparing. When I was growing up if I read the book, I wouldn't go to see the movie or watch it on TV, it was never as good. LOL Now, I am a little more forgiving. Kudos on the pictures in the post, especially the last one... and the Gold Medal Flour sign... Love it~!
I love Minneapolis! What is not to love about it??? The Sculpture Garden! Walker Art Center! Minnehaha! Laugh, haha, but, I loved it~ And theaters galore. I know you love it there and honestly, I think that anyone who went there would too. It is a big city, with that small-town feel. Well, I said that wrong, but, the outskirts of it make the area feel small town and very homey and friendly. You have made me feel all nostalgic to go back and visit again. If it weren't for the snowy winters, I would sing its praises even higher. Although, I have lived in snowy places and I never minded. It was just part of the charm.
#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, and eventually branched out and evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact that these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.
Thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday
