Hello everyone!
Hace un par de días me encontraba en mi universidad saliendo de clases, que para informar, me encuentro finalizando mi primer semestre de medicina veterinaria. En una de esas cuando ya nos íbamos, una compañera nos avisó de que habían dejado frente a la universidad, una caja con unos perritos dentro, tras escuchar eso todos nos pusimos en marcha y fuimos a ver.
Y en efecto, encontramos a tres pequeños cachorros en condiciones bastante feas, a decir verdad, nos llenó un poco de rabia el que los hayan abandonado en esas condiciones tan deplorables, pero no nos quedamos sin hacer algo, rápidamente fuimos en busca de soluciones para ayudar a los tres pequeños.
A couple of days ago I was at my university leaving classes, which to inform, I am finishing my first semester of veterinary medicine. In one of those when we were leaving, a classmate told us that they had left in front of the university, a box with some puppies inside, after hearing that we all got going and went to see.
And indeed, we found three little puppies in pretty ugly conditions, to tell the truth, we were a little angry that they had been abandoned in such deplorable conditions, but we did not stay without doing something, we quickly went in search of solutions to help the three little ones.
Eran dos hembras y un macho, una de las pequeñas presentaba alguna clase de infección en sus ojos, y todos presentaban síntomas de falta de hierro por sus encías blanquecinas, infestados de garrapatas y con indicios de posible dermatitis.
They were two females and one male, one of the little ones had some kind of infection in her eyes, and all of them had symptoms of lack of iron due to their whitish gums, infested with ticks and with signs of possible dermatitis.
Logramos contactar a algunos veterinarios y gente dispuesta ayudar, conseguimos hogares temporales y en espacio de clases incluso, se ofreció la ayuda para los perritos, como quitarle las garrapatas, alimentarlos e incluso bañarlos.
We managed to contact some veterinarians and people willing to help, we got temporary homes and even offered to help the puppies in a classroom setting, such as removing ticks, feeding them and even bathing them.
Lastimosamente las dos cachorritas fallecieron, solo queda el pequeño cachorro al que llamaron Yoshi, aunque también lo llaman perrito hipopótamo puesto a que su apariencia hace que se asemeje a uno. Este pequeño se encuentra delicado de salud puesto a que padece de una erliquia avanzada, una enfermedad que proviene de las picaduras de las garrapatas infectadas.
Unfortunately the two puppies died, only the little puppy they named Yoshi remains, although they also call him hippo puppy because his appearance makes him look like one. This little guy is in delicate health because he suffers from advanced erlichia, a disease that comes from the bites of infected ticks.
Con la ayuda de todos mis compañeros de clase y su pequeño aporte, esperamos de todo corazón a que el pequeño Yoshi pueda recuperar fuerzas y ganar esta batalla para conseguirle un lindo hogar donde lo amen y le de los tratos necesarios que merece.
With the help of all my classmates and your small contribution, we hope with all our hearts that little Yoshi can recover his strength and win this battle to find him a nice home where he will be loved and given the necessary treatment he deserves.
Realmente no me pareció algo correcto el haber abandonado a su suerte a aquellos tres cachorros en muy malas condiciones, opino que los dejaron ahí quizás porque sabían que habían estudiantes de veterinaria cerca y que algo harían, sin embargo no me parece la manera más correcta de hacer las cosas. Si no se tiene los medios como para cuidar correctamente a un animal, es mejor pedir ayuda que abandonarlo, agradezco tanto el que todos mis compañeros de clase hayamos puesto de nuestra parte y sigamos en ello para salvar la vida de este pequeño cachorro.
It really didn't seem right to me to have abandoned those three puppies to their fate in very bad conditions, I think they left them there maybe because they knew that there were veterinary students nearby and that they would do something, however it doesn't seem to me the right way to do things. If you don't have the means to take care of an animal properly, it is better to ask for help than to abandon it, I am so grateful that all my classmates have done their part to save the life of this little puppy.

I hope Yoshi can survive, whoever had him should have asked for help sooner. I wonder if the mother is ok.

Me paso de tener que rescatar tres gatitos, los tuve en gasa unos 4 días alimentándolos mientras les buscaba un hogar y por suerte alguien pudo adoptar a los tres hermanitos
Me alegran mucho las situaciones en las que es posible adoptar a más de uno y no terminan separados los gatitos hermanos, un buen acto el que hiciste al tenerlos contigo cierto tiempo, saludos!
It's unfortunate when I read this kind of thing, people can always put up for adoption the animals they can no longer keep at home. I hope that puppy gets better soon.
I agree, in any case it never hurts to put them up for adoption in the right way or ask for help with it, it's not bad because a family can come along to give the animal new and better opportunities. Thanks for your good wishes for Yoshi!
