My little girl Paz.
El 4 de octubre, es declarado como "el Día Mundial de los Animales". Es que nuestro universo es tan perfecto y en equilibrio, que nos regala unos seres para acompañarnos sin necesidad de hablar o comportarse como nosotros. Este día, todos y cada uno de nosotros presumimos nuestras mascotas: perros, gatos, peces, caballos, aves, y todo ser viviente que hace parte de nuestra vida. En este caso, yo les quiero presentar a un animalito que se roba mi corazón desde que llegó y que cuido mucho como parte de mi vida, ella es: Mi niña Paz. Paz es una morrocoya, común y silvestre muy dada en esta región del mundo (desconozco si en otros lados es igual). Es común ver en los patios de las casas, mucha morrocoyas en un lugar apartado y que van pasando de generación en generación.

Primero, llegó una morrocoya grande que mi mamá alimentaba y cuidaba; un día, su nuera le trajo una morrocoya pequeñita.
Está pequeñita, era más tímida y pasaba días incluso semanas escondida.
Un día, la morrocoya grande murió ¡Si, murió! Cosa muy extraña en ellas porque, son animales que duran mucho.
Al momento de limpiar aquella repentina muerte, recordé que estás está pequeñita por allí y comencé a buscarla.
Mi cuñada salió del país y la había dejado acá. Yo la limpie porque presumo que había estado merodeando a su amiga grande y le di comida y agua.
Al principio como que no quería, presentía lo malo, la soledad y muerte, desde allí conectamos porque supe que algo más había en ella.
Tan chiquita, la coloque en otro lugar donde podía caminar y no esconderse cómo hacía en el patio.
Caminaba, inquieta como queriendo salir, buscar, y por eso llegó su nombre:
Paz.
Cada vez que la veía así, le decia: niña ten paz... Deja la caminadera je,je,je...
Comencé a saber que le gustaba de comida, le gustaba el agua fría (asumo por el calor que hace aquí), duerme bastante y ha ido creciendo cada día más.
Cuando me mudé a mi casa, conforme fue creciendo, sus necesidades fisiológicas fueron más grandes y ya no la podía tener adentro.
Por suerte, habilitamos un espacio que está cercado, no entran los animales, techado y no se moja cuando llueve fuertemente.
Allí es donde se desenvuelve; día a día mi madre le pone comida, yo la baño y le doy agua y le doy su vuelta para que no se sienta sola.

This little one was more shy and spent days or even weeks hiding.

I started to know what she likes to eat, she likes cold water (I assume because of the heat here), she sleeps a lot and has been growing more and more every day.
When I moved into my house, as she got older, her physiological needs got bigger and I couldn't keep her inside anymore.
Luckily, we set up a space that is fenced in, no animals enter, roofed and does not get wet when it rains heavily.
That is where she lives; every day my mother puts food for her, I bathe her, give her water and give her a turn so she does not feel alone.
Benefits of having Paz in my home:
🐢First, she keeps us company. She keeps us busy by giving her food, water and her daily visit seeing if she is doing well.
🐢My mother is allergic so we can't have dogs or cats; Paz is perfect for her and her health.
🐢She's not rowdy, noisy or when visitors come she doesn't ride on top of her heh,heh. Rather, I take her out and people like to approach her.
🐢They last for many years. I have known neighbors who have morrocoyas from their dead grandmothers and they are still alive, so I hope it lasts as long as it should last.
🐢It doesn't require much care like vaccinations or special food.
🐢They are very noble; it's like they carry the weight of their sorrows quietly, silently. They don't have little hands and they have to figure out how to acquire food, so they seem super smart to me too.

🐢No requiere mucho cuidado como vacunas o alimentos especiales.
🐢Son muy nobles; es como que llevan el peso de sus penas calladas, en silencio. No tiene manitos y tienen que ingeniarselas para adquirir comida, entonces me parecen también súper inteligentes.

Hola @florecitamejias amiga me encanta paz, la nuestra en casa se llama Lina, a mi en particular siempre me han fascinado estos animalitos, es como mencionaste dan pas, no representan mucho gasto, son duraderos y te hacen reflexionar sobre todas esas cosas que cargamos encima, unas veces no nos las quitamos como ellas con su caparazon y algunas otras podemos dejar de cargarlas.
