What would also help greatly is if Google would play nice and put Hive-related search results on the top when warranted. Right now the best chance of getting visibility seems to be to share the link on Reddit and let Google pick up the title of your Reddit post.

Here is another person discussing some of this as well: https://peakd.com/hive/@achim03/rethinking-curation-on-hive

Yes, Hive isn't that SEO-friendly: slow and, because of multiple front-ends, Google might think every front-end posts much duplicate content. Also, I guess Reddit is whitelisted by Google as a well-moderated popular discussion web space. And thus it's useful to mention Hive in big discussions on Reddit - HivePosh is going to incentivize such activity soon.

Is there any place I can read a good explanation about this? I raised the issue in PeakD Discord, but for some reason there is little engagement there, which I find surprising and disappointing at the same time.

How I see it. They probably don't consider Google's ranking too important. The blockchain means Peakd is doomed to be slowish and many frontends mean a significant part of the content on Peakd is doomed to be considered duplicate by Google.

You can ask AI about Google's search ranking algorithm, and you'll see the originality of content and website speed.

So they probably decided to emphasize user experience: Peakd is slow but cute and with many functions. Someone can say AI search will replace Google search one day so why even bother. Even if Peakd was superfast and had non-dublicate unique content, it would be hard to compete with so reputable site as Reddit.

Despite this, Peakd posts can be seen on Google. With links from Reddit (thanks to HivePosh), peakd posts have slightly better chances.

(This is only my opinion.)
