Your point about Adam having forgotten what he did to Ally is an interesting one. It went beyond the scope of this piece to really delve into his state of mind, but it seems entirely plausible that the incident was much less important to him than it was to Ally.

Just my take on it from their brief encounter as though he was surprised by her attack. Could have been he had no time to question it as he was engrossed in the game. Thanks for pointing that out. It's been my experience with bullies that the inflict, then move on to the next victim, often not remembering the fallout left behind.
