RE: Follow Friday: Out of Steam

in #hive2 months ago

I wasn't here for the fork, or any of the ensuing conflicts, I don't have any personal emotions about it.
If some Steem users have become persuaded that Hive is a better manifestation, it's not clear to me what the drawback would be.

The blockchain space is remarkably different than in 2020-2021, attention is diluted.

As a community there has to be a steady inflow of users - Blurt or Steemit users at the very least have a basic understanding of how our platform works.

It might make sense to present a sentiment of "Come Home to Hive".

The fork was certainly an 'interesting' time. Some people really fell out over it and keep bearing grudges. Others left over different disagreement or the 'Hive police'. You can find plenty of reports of Hive being run be a corrupt cabal, but I think most of that is exaggerated. As I have often said, Hive is not perfect, but it's generally better than the alternatives. There are people I would like to see return.

I'm sure everyone's experience varies. I've been active recently and digging into Hive, I do a lot of reading and listening. I've found I can interact well with anyone here if I assume the best of them, and assume they are trying to perpetuate Hive or the characteristics of Hive they value the most.

I don't expect to get on with everyone, but my experiences here have been mostly positive.
