Really great welcome that you showed to @tammie.brown . We all need a little bit of help when we first join the Hive. It's a fascinating place with more doors to be opened than one could possibly imagine, but it helps if you have someone to hold your hand for a few days and show you around, and how to use all those darn keys 😄

I think it's an indispensable guide! I really struggled for about a week to get going and if it wasn't for @jaxsonmurph 's incredible patience, kindness, and support, I may have abandoned the idea of being on the platform as a bad joke. I am so grateful I had his guidance and believe everyone should be given a helping hand onto the platform, and Jay's wisdom gained through experience is the perfect companion. It's definitely not an easy platform to navigate as a newbie, although it gets much easier as familiarity and experience grows.
Agreed! With all of this! I'm so blessed Jay was just in the other room and he helped me navigate Hive faster than most. But that led us to want to help. As entrepreneurs, it's in our blood to see a problem and find a solution and help others so they don't have the same problem. Now if only we could get Hive to make it easier so the guide wouldn't be as vital to onboarding.
I'm so glad you figured it out and had someone to help you too! We LOVE #helping people and we love others who help others.

Being someone that wants to start making videos when I get a more comfortable apartment, I find his relaxation and flow in this video to be very interesting.

I'm not just a specialist... I consider myself a generalist as well. Generals have to be wise and experienced in multiple disciplines and ways of thinking and I am always trying my best to widen my understanding of the world. Sophistication is what results!
In some way's this whole headlong drive to specialize the world has only gotten us so far. This far! Now it's more important than ever to explore other modes of thought and try new courses of action!
That's why I love the crypto space so much!
Because I don't think it's possible for humanity to move to the next stage of it's evolution... without first doing a complete rethink on what money is and how it works.
What society considers to be money is the supportive backbone for all technological advancements thereafter.
We could be living on the cusp of a new Golden Age... But first we will have to push through all the medieval and backwards thought that predicates out there!
If you look at it from this angle, I would say that we all need to be like the philosophers of old. The way they questioned everything and the way they tried to know more about the most basic things is actually what brought us thus far.
At the moment, what we have in the world are bunch of people that are afraid to embrace change. They want to live a programmed life and they don't want to see the adventure that lies in trying new things.
I'm glad that you understand this subject matter to this extent and I'm excited to see how you liking it to what we are doing in blockchain.
Truth be told, everything starts like this and that is why I'm never afraid to hear of people fighting against crypto and all it represents. Currently, trading crypto via commercial banks is banned in my country but we still find ways to do our transactions and more people are getting on board this Crypto ship.
Being open to gain knowledge about a lot of things is the way forward. I for one, will not limit myself due to some lopsided generalized view of stuff

This conversation with you has prompted a whole cascade of thought around the magic of waiting... and when to know that it is time to take action! Win's come in all shapes and sizes and often go unnoticed. A win might have even been under your nose for the longest time! Those win win (and sometimes WIN!) scenarios do seem few and far between... buuuuuut to the practice operator finding a win can become second nature! Keep training your mind to identify these sorts of things and the puzzle aligns pretty quickly actually! It might surprise you!

Another person I came across today for the first time was @swaycanete when I read her article How did I know? about her journey of discovery through transgenderism. It was heartfelt and authentic and I have started following her as a result. Upvoted her post, commented ❗ and curated the comments, although I appreciate from Wil's input that the curation of these comments falls outside of comet week parameters as the post is older than 7 days. I wanted to upvote all of the positive comments of support as I felt the outpouring of love was something that deserved recognition. I have upvoted in the order in which I liked the comments (all at 100% voting power). I also wanted to relegate the spammer comment to the bottom of the pile, bar my own comment lol. Sadly this particular scam comment seems to be appearing on almost every post I view these days :-(

I came across @frost77 today after his intro post was promoted in an OCD onboarding article. I was so taken by his story and efforts to turn his life around that I read a number of his recent posts too and commented on some of them. This one Colorful Colorado caught my attention as Colorado is on my bucket list of places to visit; more specifically the Colorado Rocky mountains. What caught my attention was firstly the title and then the juxtaposition between @frost77 's near and far views depicted in his photographs; from the uninspiring substation opposite his current home to the grandeur of the Rocky mountains in the distance. He also appealed for advice and help in one of his own engagement comments on his post and being new myself and having had the support I needed to see me through the first couple of months on the HIVE, I engaged on his post asking questions about the Rockies, upvoted him and reached out to him to offer some guidance and support. ❓
And you've been pretty helpful and it nsightful. once I get out of this place I'm in, I'm sure I'll end up venturing into dem' der' hillz. When I do, I'll make sure you get lots of photos!

It's what I do every day as a personal trainer.
I show people their potential... and I get them to commit to THEMSELVES. (But in small but consistent and daily ways.)
The compounded results then take care of the motivation by themselves. It's all about telling the truth, shifting and reframing mindsets, making aspirations clear, self-discovering identity... and then aligning action and meaningful activates with a BE NOW (not later) approach.
Thank you for recognizing what I do Jay. It means a lot just to be seen by you and @cynshineonline. You two are some of the best people I have come across in quite awhile... So this is a virtuous circle ⭕️ I think! You inspire, motivate, and encourage me... and I seek to do the same. 😊

This comment I made yesterday and today in the comment section with Eliza. She's been hacked, and I know this heartbreak all too well. She (and so many of us) do NOT deserve this evil. I so pray that God restores all that was hacked and more - in the future for her. If anyone reads this - please do go encourage her! She is the sweetest person, and I hate that this happened to her.
Honestly!! When are these thieves going to get their due?!?!?! getting so tired of it!
This was heart breaking but thank you for both highlighting this post and supporting Eliza during this very difficult time @dreemsteem. We really hope that these sorts of stories become the exception rather than the norm.
Lets all continue to do everything we can to counter these sorts of detrimental incidents and also lets continue to educate ourselves and inform others so that we can all be more savvy around blockchain security.

So I was directed to another newbie on the HIVE by an OCD onboarding post. This time it was an article by @angie08 Why do I do what I do? . She questions one's motives for getting up each day and pursuing often exhausting agendas and daily tasks. Good perspective. I engaged with both @angie08 and other curators on the post. ❗
Getting to the bottom of why you do what you do... Now that's something meaningful to discuss! Balance is very difficult to maintain with all the demands that modern life would place UPon us... But this COVID19 virus has really shown us that we might be able to take a HUGE step back from many of the things we previously felt obligated to do. In the end love is a major driver... but in order for it to be the sustainable sort we need to make sure that we dig our own wells first. Great post to highlight from a very mindful author!

I found a story that teaches a great lesson. I am a subscriber to this theory that a greedy person loses everything in the end. That's what this member @cool08 tells in his story ❗️

What's interesting is there are many forms of greed. Just as love has many forms so to do the other sorts of emotional states, good bad, ugly.
For example... Gratefulness is the best way to counter greed. Why is that? Because there are people who are greedy because they want more more and more without limit. 2 parts of greed are like the opposite ends of a stick. Greed because you spent so much that you can not let go and greed because you spent so little that you can not let go.
Learning how to change your values and relationship with the material things in life... ultimately (and strangely enough!) makes you a better investor... because your things don't endUP owning you. You have mastery over them.
This allows you to accumulate true wealth and for the right reasons... Because true wealth really isn't about stuff... It's about people.

The way to combat the invisible tax of inflation is to spend our fiat wisely. Preferably things that will move counter to the downward pull of inflation.
It is possible to find appreciating assets... and perhaps now is the time to measure those assets against a whole new measuring stick.
It might even be about answering a simple question. What do I want more of? What do I want less of? Investing between two things you want more of... Well that's winning if you ask us!

Time is a tricky thing. Conventionally it is not openly traded on the market as in the stock market. You are correct. But indirectly it is actually traded on the market.
This is not just when someone decides to work for an employer (selling their time by the hour or by salary) but is more commonly sold implicitly within the products and goods we buy daily.
This is why the DIY movement will always bunt heads with the items made in China (as an example)! If it costs $1 US of foreign labor to make a widget and that same widget takes you 1 hour to make yourself... then there is the trade off and there is also the time inputs.
It's a very interesting thing to think about especially when you consider the buy local movement. Do we buy from a local store... that in turn got it's goods from a far away place? You can see the conundrum here! It's a definite catch 22!

I agree with you that time is tradable indirectly but the time that's gone by never comes back, not at any price. So the best way to encash it is to cash it when it's still available to you! Thanks for everything.❗️
Such a good point about the difference between time, money, and commodities openly sold on the markets.
Time is different in that it can never be recovered. Consumables are like this in some way... however! A banana is always going to be a banana! 🍌 You might use it UP... but there is always another one that's exactly fungible in every persons hand. Time diminishes and is NOT replicable and therefore absolutely MUST be invested wisely.
I find it fascinating to think about the many intricacies of what us humans trade and what we trade it for...
And it's always a good day when I find someone that likes to talk about time and it's importance! ⏱
Sure, one that knows the value of time and grabs the opportunity when it's still available wins the race. You know time knocks on your door just once so if you don't grab it with both your arms extended and pull him in IN TIME, it finds another door. ❗️

Without gratitude we wouldn't have 2 cents to rub together. I have been teaching my daughters all about the importance of gratitude. All wealth comes from the inner self via gratitude. A rich person who's not grateful is in actuality living in poverty. Someone who has nothing but is grateful for what they do have is truly wealthy heart, body, and soul... and all the worlds wealth flows towards those who are grateful for even the smallest crumbs.

Teaching your daughters gratitude early will be a huge jumpstart for them towards a great life. I applaud parents who do this.
Yes, and those who are grateful for haters, for conflict, for challenge, etc., imho the 'realest' test of gratitude is can we be grateful for things that seem negative, or do we fear, resist, and hate instead? :) 🙏

Do you know anyone who attempts to do this thing called "Gaslighting"? Where does that term come from anyways? This is the first time we have heard of this... and it's really food for thought!
Likely someone with narcissistic tendencies wouldn't think twice about using these sorts of tactics within a relationship. But that's the problem with this sort of me first mentality. It destroys the relationship someone should be cherishing and buildingUP.
Do people "who gaslight" tend to reflect criticism back when the other partner expresses it? This would also indicate insecurity fundamentally. Not with the relationship but with themselves more than naught.

Let's get right into it, I have clearly meet so many persons that always gaslight others, and I am glad I could manage myself with such persons, they can be really manipulative. The term "gas light" actually first originate from a 1938 play with the title "gas light", it tells s story of a very manipulative husband. You can research more on that so see how the term form. People who gaslight rare find themselves in a situation where they are the one being gaslighted so if the partner did get to express gaslighting back to them, it's obvious party are just being manipulative to each other, which happen to be a rare case. It's always a case of a victim and a bully most of the time though and the victim really suffer in such situations. Thank you for your amazing questions.

I just thought it was considered the polite thing to do so that the author can understand the rationale and engage with the DV'er to rectify any misconceptions, mistakes etc or just agree to disagree, appeal to the platform etc...Surely the platform should require a DV to have an accompanying comment otherwise something should be done to mitigate it? My sense of equitable response to this DV was to upvote 3-4 of @rentmoney 's comments on the post as he is going ahead with the contest anyway and going to provide a prize out of his own funds. I had previously upvoted the post at 100% when I entered and it doesn't bother me that I lose the curation rewards on this, but I feel for the author who does not deserve this. So I commented further on his post saying that I had upvoted some of his comments and would be visiting his other articles to ensure I upvoted one or two there and encouraged everyone else who visited the post to do the same. ❗

Would be nice to know why someone gives a downvote of course and I like the idea that people would have to leave a comment when downvoting
As I understand it in this case it is because they feel the posts is earning disproportionately more that similar posts and is trying to balance things out
I respect there right to do that as the system is now
I mean reward correction is understandable ... But I think it's important to atleast take the time to tell the author about why they have down voted ....
In most cases the author feels "sad" because they think that there is something "wrong" with their post.
I can't do this for other front ends but the only thing I can do, would be to add a "reason for downvote" for Terrive ( when I add a down vote option ) but I don't think it would make much difference because I only have a few users and no down votes on any posts so far.

It's not really about casually accepting this @rentmoney...
I really hope that people don't accept this as the norm around here... Culturally we need a friendlier more receptive Hive if this is going to be a safe place to invite our friends, family, and famous. Right down to how the blockchain is designed... we need to keep this in mind. Otherwise this is a doomed project.
To keep Hive marketable we actually need to evolve the processes we use to identify and deal with behaviors that are detrimental to the Blockchain and it's communities. How we human does matter. How we deal with our own does matter... especially from a systemic view.
If you read the #CometWeek White Paper... The 2nd from last section of the White Paper discusses why this is so important.
Outside eyes are watching what's happening inside the blockchain...
...and they are deciding if they want to be a part of what we are innovating here.
They are also deciding if they want to invite their friends, family, and famous here... Not to mention invest their money and build out their business ideas.
The marketability of Hive is at stake.
@Comet.Ranker and #CometWeek are a direct response (not a reactions!) to this problem that we are all dealing with on the blockchain.
THIS is the purple elephant in the room and I want to shine some Comet Light on it... Open things UP for a safe and constructive conversation about it.
We are all Hive Owners... and we need to realize that every action or inaction we take on this blockchain adds UP to something.
It's going to either take us UP or take us all down (with the exception of a few that is...)

This is some of the unfriendliness @Comet.Ranker and #CometWeek was designed to counter. The only way to truly make a difference is not to fight fire with fire... but to fight unfriendliness with friendliness.
With unfriendly actions and supporting infrastructure on the Hive Blockchain we will only find it increasingly difficult to attract outside people to this blockchain.
It is therefore one of our missions here at @Comet.Ranker to create a forum of discussion where other Hive Owners can openly discuss Hive's future and how we want to shape the social environment here. We simply can not win with these sort of practices in place and so this is critical to the future of this blockchain and our communities.

So I came across this post by @mimerr in the NEW section: Crypto with purpose and the perfect platform. I upvoted it and commented as I found it to be an interesting comparative of the various platforms and coins under consideration by him as the launchpad for a new blockchain game still under development. The author has as one of his options, the option to develop a custom platform that would suit the game perfectly but it struck me that the time and money requirements to dev a whole new platform would surely impact the timing of the eventual release of the game, which may not be conducive to optimum success. I asked the question to clarify this point and wished him well in his endeavours to find the best match for his project. Of course I plugged Hive lol but HIVE is his number one option at the moment so fingers crossed the game appears here in the not too distant future. I have taken a look at his 3speak clips of the dev of the characters and the main one looks pretty cool, not to mention the movement fluidity that accompanies it :-) ❓
Your questions showed genuine interest in the project. This sparked some relevant conversation around it's development.
It's nice when people care enough to ask a question about a project... In fact! If people hear about a project but don't ask about it... It's a clear signal that they aren't interested in what you are doing.
That's a tough pill to swallow and it's one that many artists, developers, entrepreneur, etc. face daily. This can all to often be quite disheartening in a dog eat dog world.
@mimerr is likely pouring his heart, soul, daylight, moonlight, and his whole self into the development of this game. Just a simple question like this can not only help him clarify his intended path... but also become a catalyst to quicken his step as he goes along piecing things together 1 by 1!

Just curated at @hranhuk 's post Remember you are alone where he discussed the hurt he experiences at not having the loyalty and support from friends and family for his business endeavours. I really do empathise with his situation but tried to help him to see that focussing on the hurt can only serve to distract from his end goal and impact his success and that he would be better served by accepting that he has no control over the actions and choices of others, and that these are not necessarily reflections of him as a person, and that he should instead focus on the loyalty and support that he has already built up, continue to believe in himself and be proud of his achievements.❗️
