I don't know to start, but it was a day of many stories, of which I'm not sure which one to share.
So, let's pick 3 stories. These are not necessarily my favorite ones, but the ones that are easiest to share.
First, I had a great coaching session. With one week of the #30DayChallenge in the books, I've now seen where most of my struggles currently come from and what tasks are the hardest to focus on. But today also marked a new journey not just documenting as I'm doing now, but also writing a piece with a specific purpose, being the Social Media Day Suriname which is coming up next week.
Second, we got to interview the Head Coach of the Suriname Men's National Team today, Stanley Menzo. The ultimate dream for us as that tiny little country, which is the most forested in the world, is to qualify for the 2026 World Cup to be held in Canada, the US and Mexico.
Menzo is former International Player for the Netherlands, playing for both Dutch powerhouses Ajax and PSV, who talked freely about his role as our Head Coach, the opportunities we have now compared to two years ago, potential new players making use of the new FIFA eligibility rules (many great football/soccers players have roots in Suriname), but also about playing with a young Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima, and becoming champions of Belgium with Lierse for the 4th and final time in their 100+ year old club history.
It is important to note that Menzo was born in Paramaribo, Suriname, and views it as his duty to come back home and help Suriname with the World Cup dream. Throughout the interview you could also feel the built up towards this goal, and the love for what he does as well.
If you understand Dutch, you can watch and listen to the interview here:
Third, tomorrow truly marks the first day that I can schedule my day according to my 30 day challenge to optimize my results, so I'm actually looking forward to it.
Today, I went 13 out of 20. Weekend are over, so the score goes up a bit, but still to many tasks that were untouched.
And what that meant? Maybe, I'll share it tomorrow.
Or tomorrow will be a totally different freewrite. Who knows.
