This is so true. Back in my old blog, I used to think that I should stop writing already because I can no longer feel that there's value on my post. Until I came here in hive. I felt like blogging everyday because of the awesome people here, like yourself, who drops by and left a beautiful comment. I am with you when it comes to caring to what other people brings in the platform. A simple you did great in a post can boost someone to continue writing. ☺ You are awesome! Keep it up ☺
You know what the best thing about a comment is... it means that someone took the time to read annnnnnnd comment on your content. That sort action brings a whole new meaning to the actual content it’s self!

2,000 Hive participation is a reward that will go to 5 participants and it’s partly to prove a point. Social Capital always comes before Financial Capital. I believe it through and through.

I comment a lot in spanish, that is why i like the comentator, because they are an hispanic proyect, and my quality of speak on my mother toungue is by far about ten times better than this crappy and broken english i use on my post :(
But, yeah, winning as a community is great, you should try do some live curations or something like it on discord :P I hope this proyect rises and becomes one of the many stars on the hive sky <3

I love this. I also manually curate everything. Selfishly I don't want to deprive myself of the joy, the learning and growth experience I get from reading others' articles and engaging with them. I also feel I do more justice to the works of others if I actually read them :-) So great to come across other people on the Hive with a similar mindset. Keep doing you Wil because you are a good person and have your heart in the right place.
Well that's the whole benefit of actually engaging in other's post- it's as much about our benefit as theirs as we grow with the education and entertainment factor, while their accounts grow with more income and followers and that's what I say every time I reach the top 20 of the Engagement League by @abh12345, I don't do it for the kudos or to win the numbers, I do it for the plain and simple enjoyment and benefits of it...
@wil.metcalfe I saw a video with a young guy talking about Hive and he said that there were essentially 3 type of users and one of them he called a lurker and described them as the people that are here lurking in the background, upvoting and reblogging other posts but not really contributing by creating their own content.
As some one who sometimes does not want to create and upload content all the time (maybe I don't want to bore people/think that it should only by quality over quantity/might be too depressed/may be too busy IRL...whatever), I find this term to quite insulting and guess what, it's now all over the internet for trillions of people to watch it.
BUT the most stupid thing in this guy saying that, is the fact that every day I hear on hive and twitter about how much we need more curators as curation plays just as an intrinsically important role as content creation does.
So good on you for creating this great initiative but have you thought about teaming up with Asher @abh12345 in the Hive Engagement League at all.
To come at the interaction and engagement from both ends would give it all so much more power if you were to team up.
As the old adages go. Strength in numbers and many hands make light work.

You know I’m allergic to negative connotations and labels like that too. The thing to keep in mind... the people who are gonna think this way will already be attracted to that sort of messaging... but people like you and I will only be repelled.

I have to admit! Like minds are so great... And I can tell when I'm talking to someone with the same values as I have!
You know... I feel exactly the same way as you do about manually curating posts and comments! I'm actually curious! And I really do want to learn something new and experience something great!
You can't do this without taking the time to actually read the posts (and the comments too!)! It's wonderful and when you add the joy of actually engaging with people all around the globe! I mean who would ever want to miss out on that!!!
Your absolutely correct about doing justice to the efforts of others! When we read the content of peoples lives and acknowledge them... that's when real bonds are forged and trust results.
Living a rich life is all about the quality of the questions we ask and the conversations we have along the way...
Cultivating curiosity and genuine interest... That's truly what this life is all about!
By learning about others... we have a mirror to learn about ourselves! It's all about self-discovery and that's the sort of thing that makes the world a better place!

Hahaha! I can’t believe what I’m hearing here sir. There’s a lot going on over here on my end and these sorts of expectations certainly don’t make sense...
Writing 10 parts to a White Paper is in it’s self a monumental task... let alone doing all the other things a personal trainer and a family man must do.
I do my absolute best to respond to comments but this is something that is done within my time frame.
I don’t understand your rational in thinking and to be honest with you... it does seem to be a little unreasonable... especially when you consider the number of comments I’m currently dealing with.
Why such a stance?
It doesn’t seem to be a fair one if you ask me...
I’m speaking with you directly.
But all things considered... if this is your approach to things... then this is your approach.
Either way. I still do wish that you would reconsider this hard line approach. It really could be much friendlier and more fair and considerate.

I’m fine with however you want to approach things... however I do wish that you would reconsider this line of thinking as it’s probably not going to serve you well.
No one is entitled to a return comment... and if someone does take their time to do so that in and of it’s self should be enough. Commenting back on someone else’s timeframe should never be considered a test. That, in my humble opinion, is quite an unfriendly way to think about comments.
The last thing you want is for people to feel obligated to respond in order to keep open contact on the blockchain. You want comments to flow naturally and rapport to come with sincerity and kindness.
Making it a test of friendship if someone comments back within an undefined timeline... that’s just not a great way to social.
I’m not one to mince words and I say it how I see it...
But this is as far as I will take this.
Please consider my words and I do honestly wish you well and all the success here on this blockchain.

The comments does matter💞. I really like those people who commented on my post because it gives me the idea that they appreciate my content and it encourages me to continue what I'm doing😊.
