Thank you for your post. But I think there is still a possibility to have someone like Justin to purchase a large amount of hive to do the same as steem has gone through.
There needs to be fundamental changes in the way governance is managed in hive.
Sure he can try, but he won't have 73M + Exchanges to work with.
I say, let them try! I would gladly accept the increase in price only for them to fall short.
Between dropping almost 5M on a failed schmooze lunch and 4M or so on an asset that is going to likely greatly depreciate over the next 13 weeks, he might be light on liquid funds.
That is a fundamental difference. There is no way to get an off-chain deal for that ridiculous amount of power anymore and there is no way to buy it on-chain / on exchanges. Anyone would run out of money on the way there, or be invested so deep in the end, that he/she is rightfully very powerful. HIVE would be way beyond 10 bucks by then...
The mingle in of the exchanges, that was though and though illegal behavior. Unbelievable that it actually happened. I bet my ass there was black money involved. Not on CEO level, but on some administrative level. There was someone to log in and push the PowerUp Button.
