Puppy Pandemonium!

in #homesteading6 years ago

I haven't posted anything in a couple of days because things have gotten a little crazy around here. We're babysitting two of the puppies and the chaos level has been cranked up to 11 once again. In addition to the chaos, the puppies are super skinny. They were full of worms and gaunt and dehydrated.

We are going to keep the puppies and find them better homes. It was an error in judgement for us to let them go to these young people who aren't really at a time in their lives when they are responsible enough to raise babies. Which means we have four puppies who are larger now and can destroy so much more of the house!

I'm posting irrelevant pictures because I haven't had the time to take relevant ones. These are just spring shots from the property and the neighborhood.

In the midst of the chaos, spring is still going strong.

I do have one puppy picture from when I was feeding the goats last night. He wanted some snacks too!

I am hoping that some sort of calm will descend on me at some point. I don't think it will be today. At least the apple trees are blooming!

Sort:

Oh, I'm glad the puppies are safely back home! I'm sure you have your hands full with 4, but now you have an opportunity to find them the perfect home!
Nothing is blooming here yet. Lucky you!

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for you! Do you need a couple of puppies? Hahahaha!

Do you utilize any other platforms for your photography like ShutterStock?

I haven't. I am taking all my pictures with my phone so I don't really consider them "photography". I wish I had a real camera!

Hello..
@goat-girlz
Yikes...!!
You certainly are back into overload...!!! 🤦‍♀️
I know you'll be able to get the pups back into good health again. I bet they they were excited to reunited with their siblings.
The apple blossoms photo is beautiful delicious.
I truly hope calm is in your very very near future..😊
:D

Thank you so much! I feel like I'm under water but the puppies are doing better. I love apple blossoms! They're so beautiful.

Poor little guys, they must have felt terrible. When I adopted Big Dog he was four months old and living in the woods. His belly was swollen huge but you could see the bones on his back, and he was quite lethargic. He was so full of worms.

Spring is coming along nicely now. I am so glad for you.

Sorry to hear you are overwhelmed - looking after the puppies and goats. A full-time job, no less.

Always nice to see some colours, isn't it? Beautiful! Cheers!

@goat-girlz hah yeah spring is going strong here too.. pollen counts already broke over 6k. Im wearing a face mask working outside this time of year. Great photos and best of luck finding the puppies better homes.

Ah, the pollen count. I won't start suffering until May. I'm allergic to grass. It makes my job really difficult for about six weeks.

@goat-girlz ah yeah that grass makes me real itchy.

Your phone camera takes very good pictures. Sorry about the puppy dogs. May I ask how they came back with worms. I never had a dog but know that cats have to be de-wormed when you get them from outside. :-)

All puppies get worms, even if they haven't been outside. They get them through mom's milk. We dewormed all of them before they left but sometimes they need a second dose. Ours didn't go outside until they were six weeks old and had gotten their first round of shots. This case was so sad because nobody noticed how skinny they were. They've been here since Sunday and already look bigger.

Good you got them when you did...

Good luck!!

Bless you @goat-girlz for how you look after the animals and make sure they are well. I hope you can find good homes for the dogs. 💕

Thank you so much. I hope I can find homes soon. They're cute, but wow! So very messy!

'I'm posting irrelevant pictures because I haven't had the time to take relevant ones.' - Well, I love the photos and am glad you didn't spend time looking for "relevant" ones. These are great! And what a saga with rehoming puppies, finding the new owners aren't up to the job of caring for fur babies, and repossessing them. And bringing puppies back under your own roof. May the calm you hoped for descend and stay a while!

I haven't been calm in years. It's a fiction I tell myself to get through the particularly stormy bits. I'm more than happy to put up with the crazy if the puppies end up in good homes, though.
