It should be soon!
When we picked up Daisy, our doe goat, the goal was that she would be able to reproduce and eventually provide our family with milk. Step one would be getting her pregnant, but it looks like that step has already been taken care of. At first I wondered if our young buckling had done the job, since they can apparently breed at as young as three to four months old.
However, since we got these goats roughly three months ago, and since the gestation period is about 150 days (or five months) it seems that if she is getting ready to kid, the pregnancy would have begun about two months prior to us getting her.
Below I have provided both a video and some photographic evidence of why I believe that she will be kidding soon. Not only is she now very wide, but here milk bags are apparently filling up too, which can be a good giveaway. Time will tell and we will certainly keep you posted!
MAMA-GOAT VIDEO!
GETTING WIDER!
Here are a few photos that I just took with my new CANON REBEL T7i of how wide Daisy is getting. I suspected a pregnancy and it seems very evident that such is that case.
MILK COMING IN!
In these photos I tried to show how big her milk bags were getting. This makes me suspect that it could be any day now! We will be keeping a close eye on her!
As always, I'm @papa-pepper and here's the proof:

Until next time…
Don’t waste your time online, invest it with steemit.com
The characteristics of the first pregnant goat or pregnant women
Goats are the first time pregnant, when observed physically does not change significantly, so it is more difficult to recognize pregnancy than a goat who had been a child. Even in the third month of pregnancy, the pregnant goat has not shown a real physical difference.
Goats look more tame, calm and not restless
Goat's skin seems a bit loose
Navel is widened
The feathers become more shiny and are usually characterized by hair loss
Appetite increases from the usual
The body looks a little bit fat, but more often difficult to distinguish
After the pregnancy age touches the third month period the newly pregnant breeds are more easily recognizable than their stomach and physical changes. The goat's stomach enlarges with the age of the older pregnancy.
here's the proof:@papa-pepper
Wow! So cool! Thank you!

They look good too and not too shy of the camera.
Thanks for connecting us to homesteading.
Keep on steemin'
The weather has been warm, so it looks good!
Your 'Kidding' right.
Hopefully soon!
Congratulations on your news @papa-pepper. Goats have so much character (unlike their close relatives, sheep, I find, which I consider to be a little boring). I hope it's as full of life as the internet's favourite goat...
You planning to keep the kid? (you got the room?) or finding a good home for it? Got any names planned should you be wanting to keep it? Good luck all the same with it all!
We have no names picked out, but might run a steemit name contest and see what you all think. Also, we will be keeping it. I'm hoping to establish a small flock.
I'll have to check out that goat link you shared! Thanks @zool237!
After cats, goats dominate youtube for their madcap antics, I'm guessing.
Wow Nice to see. And Thanks for shere it with us.
And thank you for checking it out!

Perhaps at least two... she could have twins.
Even better, three for the price of one
You should do a vote post to name the babies when they are born, it would be cool to see what the steemit community can come up with xD
We've done that before with some rabbits.... Good idea!
Good luck DAISY
Thank you! We will let you know!
The goat is healthy, I hope the goat get a lot of children, so it can be reproduced again.
Me too!
an interesting story @papa-papper.
healthy and funny goats
Tugging at the heart. We recently left a place we were permaculturally tending and were about to get 8 Nubian goats just before the last of four 100 year floods in a row and a tornado that threw the barn into the tree and on top of telephone lines. We are in the city to regroup before attempting again. Thanks for sharing, it inspired us this afternoon.
Oh no! That sounds terrible!
Twas a series of challenges with tons of lessons we needed to learn. We are excited to take another run at it as soon as we regroup for a bit. My sweetie is currently teaching at permaculture at a local private school my daughter attends that serves macrobiotic food and is child led. We wouldn't have had the opportunity had we not taken a moment to regroup.
that's cool, does that mean she becomes a milking goat after the kids are weaned?
You can milk while they are still nursing.
learn something new and interesting every day! I just figured you could get milk from any goat just like a cow.
That is great! Your animals are myltiplying like crazy. Pretty soon you won't know what to do but sit and play with them all day!
Lol! One can hope!
Hi papa pepper I'm your biggest fan.
Cool! Thanks! How BIG are you? LOL!
Haha thats funny.
wow..good news..the life seems really happening for you :)it is not boring us like us..full of surprises and new things everyday :) consider yourself lucky to have a life like that :)
We chose this lifestyle for a reason. Thanks!
Homesteading is fun, I wish we have space for farm animals.
Thank you for sharing video and photos of Daisy @papa-pepper! :)
It is rewarding!
And it's a stress reliever! :)

Very exciting times at the papa-pepper farm! I bet it will be a great experience for all involved, not to mention you’ll soon have your very own milk!
Oh yes! We are excited;
I got 2 goats for the Mrs for Christmas, and she loved them. We started thinking of getting a buck, but wanted to wait until we had things set up for when the does kid. Well.... they decided to go in to heat, then escape and have a good time with the goat down the road. I decided to take them to the family i bought them from til i fix the fence and well....the buck they wanted to sell us got out of HIS pen and decided to take both girls on a date....
Needless to say....Im going to be a goat farmer this summer.... :P
Very cool! Goat romance on the homestead!
Maybe the baby goat will need a lot of milk then a big milk bag
Great post @papa-pepper.
I liked your every post because you posted too amazing post. And i know you love nature to much. And great pics taken of all animals that show that you loved all Animals.💕👍
That guy is too young to be a father.
There is no joy better than and similar than seeing some baby goats play. They are most playful and cute things after cat.
Excelente @papa-pimienta, tu cabra se ve bien cuidada tiene un pelaje brillante y bue color, la leche de cabra tiene muchas propiedades bondadosas sobre todo para los bebes, exitos
Wowwwww,nice one
Oh yes it's highly likely she will have her kids very soon. Maybe even today or tomorrow! She is a sweetheart, I love the photos of her cuddling with the smaller goat. I have never tried nubian milk, only alpine & nigerian dwarf. I've heard it's very popular though.
We haven't tried it either, but we are excited!
She's is beautiful and ready! Yeeeeeah!! Growing up my mum used to rear some goats the biggest oldest female goat we called mama goat!!! U just reminded me of her @papa-pepper she was so close to the family she ate from our hands and sometimes you would think she wanted to come into the house too!!! 😁 wow now I remember it was really fun times with mama goat n her jumping kids and I think my dream of having my own livestock farm started with her. Unfortunately she died suddenly, cause of death still unknown twas so painful we never really bothered.😞.
Oh no, a sad ending, but still a beautiful memory.
Yes it truly was fun times. You truly brought back memories.. O well, best wishes with your mama goat.
Congrats, @papa-pepper! Love to deliver babies. The gift of new life with no pain) I had puppies twice and mousies. Wish you good luck with Daisy. And fresh goat cheese, m-m-m.
a healthy goat .. is it yours @papa-pepper ?
How is the making friends going? from the size of the belly, there could be two in there, instantly doubling your flock, and share out the Little-Peppers attention.
I was thinking maybe twins! The "friends" thing is coming along slow, but it is coming along.
Just don't bend over in their paddock, it could be painful and ruin any chance of friendship between you, :-)
keep them AWAY from the pigs a birthing (or always).
I (sadly) know that pigs do bad things to new born goats.
Got it! Thanks!
She looks pretty close - good luck with the birth - baby goats are just the cutest :)
Oh, they'll be cute for sure!
how often can they have babies or do they just have kids, ha ha
Your buck seems very protective of the new mama! Sticks like glue. You are probably going to see a new little goat soon...
We hope so.
If you ask me, the young buckling has done the job and it's certain y'all will be enjoying some milk soon.
Check out its skin..beautiful.
And what beautiful shots.. Oh yes, your new Canon Rebel T7i performed the magic!
I'd love to see when it starts kidding!!
Nice post
Wonderful. Best wished for happy goat and kid and milk for your family later. Yummy goats milk, cheese and yogurt . :)
That is such a sweet post. I love goats and to be honest I have to admit I am following a few goats profiles on instagram to get my daily amount of goat photos and videos. They simply make me happy. I would love to have a goat one day too, but just to use it as a muse for portraits. AS an artist I really find them very beautiful as creatures.
your enthusiasm for farming is great. By the way which breed of goat is that? haven't seen one like that here in Uganda
YOUR goat looks so healthy ;
Once the young are weaned or you replace their milking with formula, you'll love the goats milk. It is preferable to cow's milk for drinking, cheese making, ice cream and baking.
Of course, best not to wean too fast, let the young get the mother's colostrum and the natural benefits of nursing.
I also have one any day now whos going to be first lol
