RE: Putting In The Garden On Our New 18 Acre Homestead

in #homesteading7 years ago (edited)

I'm confused with your title and the 18 acres. Video from your channel you say in the description you are on 16 acres.

And the listing also said 16 acres

How can you not know what acreage you bought? https://postimg.org/image/4goyy69ohn/ https://postimg.org/image/4ifhz7p0uz/

Sort:

Oh, that is simple. The paperwork said 15 and 1 acre in two plots. But we did a land survey and found that the front lot is 2.8 acres. Plus 15 acres.

So lets do the math:

2.8 + 15 = 17.8 or rounded off = 18 acres :)

Oh okay. How do you do a land survey or who does them? Was it expensive? My daughter is looking for land and this is stuff I'll pass on to her.

Don't take advise from this moron. He has never done anything legal in his life.

The minute the words off the grid comes spilling from Reids mouth you know he is lying.

Ask your local township for help.

Oh they will you can bet on that.

Maybe you could do a video on how you did a survey. Many would find this valuable.

Do you really want to watch Troy outside with a yard stick measuring his land, he would not have a clue where to start.

I also do not understand why a deputy sheriff would advise a property owner to put up no trespassing signs.
Especially 85 signs on only 16 acres of land!

Deputy sheriff? 85 signs?

I recall a video Reid uploaded where he walks around the property and along the roads. I do not recall seeing any survey stakes or ribbons anywhere.
I don't understand why the long delay in correcting 16, to now 18 acres of land.

Oh. And that just proves everything huh? Well the marks are all over the place. I dont show everything on video. All you get is a tiny summary of my life.

Actually its not simple math after you get your survey you next have to go to your neighbors and adjoining properties owners and see what their surveys say, 2 acres don't just appear out of no where they came from somewhere.

Now your neighbors have to agree or contest so basically you still have 16 acres till till you figure out where the 2 acres came from.

If your mortgage says 16 acres then its 16 acres

Its all on the paper. When they wrote up the sale ad they mis calculated the land size. Its very simple. And my mortgage shows a lot of things that you dont need to know :)

You for get all your records are public and they all say 16 acres not 18, so it means your lying yet again.

Then you do the math and see for yourself.

Your county records say its 16 acres, so automatically if anyone looks it up they will see you made up the 2 acres.

Makes you look like you lied once again. and of course it make you look bad.

And you wonder why your reputation on steem it is going down and people are turning against you.

But were still friends right?

Well, thats because I have not yet changed it online. Who cares? So what if it is 16, 17 or 18.

I mean why is it such a big deal to you?

It has nothing to do with this video.

Yes his explanation seems odd. I don't see how the listing could be wrong since it comes from title work. And a survey on raw land would be expensive. One cannot just pull 2 acres out of thin air and 2 acres is massive. I wonder if his sheds are on an adjoining property? The houses it says sits on 1.05 acres. He should check on this. I wonder if his property taxes will be adjusted also? The government doesn't let anyone not pay their fare share.

Why did it take so long to correct this oversight?

none of your business really. This particular video is about us putting a garden in our off grid homestead.

You made it our business when you put your life on the internet, now you have to justify yourself, You should have prepared yourself when you started making youtube videos, now here we are and we question everything. Its not an invasion of privacy cause you invited everyone here.

Actually people are interested in how you went from 16 acres to 18 and what steps you took. You seem to get extremely upset if anyone asks a question.

I am confused with him Lying and saying he's 95% off Grid. There would be way to much voltage drop between the solar shed and the house.

I dont know what you are trying to prove here since this is a homestead gardening video.

I don't understand solar but this was very informative and I learned something! I'm not an electronics person but you did good explaining and showing load draws.
