Between Cowan and Berowra.
Along the Great Northern Walk of Sydney.
Where Eucalypts and She Oaks whisper of days long ago.
A woman wearing a mask. Gazed down upon me.
Her outstretched arms. Invisible wings.
Lifting to Heaven. Bound to Earth.
Just a branch on a tree?
Or a gift to me?
~Ally.
Thank you @old-guy-photos for sharing @kus-knee's inspiring contest: The Human/Alien Tree Contest
This Maiden of the Eucalypts was photographed along a narrow trail that's part of the 250 kilometre Great Northern Walk that runs from Sydney to Newcastle in New South Wales, Australia. Great North walk: Berowra Valley National Park.
I hope you can see the womanly form of the Maiden of the Eucalypts as she reaches out her arms to you too.
When you're wearing socks.
And shoes. And coats. And pants.,
And underwear. Everything has to go.

What a beautiful photo of that lovely tree branch! I'm so glad that you saw her. And I love your magic wand, that is a great thing to sell in the store!
The branches of Eucalypts are all so unique Melinda. This woman really stood out for me as soon as I was within sight of the tree. I'm so looking forward to sharing more images of this wand ~ It was a wonderful subject to photograph. I'm setting up my store this week now ~ Finally. A summer cold and my head has been in a fog lately. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

Lovely as always! I enjoy how every time I visit one of your posts I leave feeling lighter, yet grounded at the same time. Your photos and art are so tied to the Earth, but then your words float through the air...
I'm so pleased that you feel a connection with my images and words @plantstoplanks. Your comment is one I truly treasure. Thanks so very much. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

Oh, Pema Chödrön! How perfect.
I do so love your woman! I can see her arms, outstretched with wild abandon, head thrown back, and smiling into the breeze. What a perfect choice of pictures.
Your posts are so very heartwarming and person. I love them. Truly.

**Oh Ally! I think that Pema Chodron quote is my new favourite!!! Love it. I love your beautiful posts - your poetry and attention to detail are just lovely. I'm excited about your listing and it's motivating me to open a store too so we can get the Aussie gig up and running for HSCO. What a beautiful wand!! Just magical! **

I love reading Pema Chodron ~ She's so 'down to earth' and sublime at the same time. How can we possibly expect to fly when we're so weighted down and restricted by our 'shoes and socks.' I love the connection the quote has to the 'maiden' who just wants to fly.
It's been a VERY slowed down 2 weeks for me @riverflows ~ But will be devoting some time especially for 'creativity' and setting up my HSCO store now. Will be wonderful if you set up your own store too. Do you have anything in mind already?
I've always liked the idea of being able to sell something using crypto. Most of my ephemeral art is not saleable, so I had to come up with products I could make. Whereas most people have a product line and then have to find somewhere to sell them. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
Such a beautiful maiden of the Eucalypt, @allyinspirit ! The poem really paints her well and I could see her form when I look at the photograph :) I love the angle and composition that you took her portrait in <3 It's like an embrace! Beautiful~
I see her!!! ♥
She certainly is a very unique gum tree @allyinspirit. LOVE your beautiful poem. Good Luck with the contest!
Her graceful figure really stood out Trudee. Much more so, on the actual tree. So pleased you like my 'poem' ~ My words feel kind of ordinary ~ But I tend to like seeing beauty in the ordinary. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
'Ordinary' is not the right way to describe your poetry Ally. You have a great talent for writing and I hope you continue to do so.
I don't know why but the picture associate me of love. Looks like two people.
Though I can't see the maiden, that is one beautiful pic. It's probably better that I can't see any human figure, because otherwise I will think of evil babayaga. That blue is just sublime <3.
And good luck on the contest, Ally :D.
The 'maiden' really stood out on the actual tree because of the spacial relationship between the main trunk and the branch that is the 'maiden.'
I'm really pleased you were honest in admitting that you couldn't see her though Scrawly ~ She's definitely not evil and I'd love you to be able to see her. So now I have the challenge of describing how you can find her.
This crop of the photo shows her torso with her arm reaching up on the right. The arm is quite thick and heavy, but that's because it's going to change into a wing.
Her face is at the top left ~ Just under the stong V shaped 'mask.' Kind of like a cherub with a mask.
The rest of her body ~ Below this section of the photo ~ Is like a mermaid ~ Legs become one long shape merging with the trunk of the tree. I really hope you can see her now? ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
Oooh I see now! What a wonderful imagination you have, Ally :D.
SO pleased that you can see it now Scrawly. Yes. Our imagination loves to be stretched now and then. Have to keep it in balance though. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
Very beautiful. Saw the form, before you even pointed it out in the text.. maybe its because I used to always hide figures in the trees I drew.
Beautifully set. And said.
This human/alien tree thing reminds me of Dan Simmons's Hyperion and his Shrike.
I love this so much that I even fired up my rather dusty @steemitwitchery to upvote & resteem your post (so, you're welcome for the extra 0.00000000000000000001 steem... LOL!)
Your wands are amazing as well, and I love that the homesteaders have a coop store. One of these days, I need to take a meander by and take a peek.
Oh, and I also just
stalkedfound you on Twitter, so I'll be sure to tag you when I tweet this out as part of the #SteemTweets thingy. Hope you're having an awesome weekend!Lovely entry. Thanks!
I see her 😍 She's BeautyFull🙏

I can see the person, it looks like the bow of a ship. Nice tree!
Thanks @abitcoinskeptic. Yes. Shades of 'Jack and Rose' at the bow of the Titanic. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
What a fabulously beautiful tree!

Eucalypts are everywhere in our bushland @felt.buzz and each tree is so uniquely shaped. All beautiful. I think my favourites are the Squigly Gums. Magnify the photograph by clicking on it, and you'll see all the squiggles. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
I love that a tree is called "squigly gums" sounds like something from a sweet shop! I'll have half a pound of squiggly gums, please! "

Indeed a very beautiful tree. I can somehow see a human figure somewhere in there, not too obvious but it just looks like it's there (of you get what I mean). Nature is indeed interesting with these mildly amusing things that make your imagination ticks!

Yes it's like you have to know it's there and then somehow your imagination will 'see' it. You may see it differently to me but that doesn't matter. Yes, I love the tricks that nature can play on our imagination. Or our imagination can play with nature. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
Such beautiful photos @allyinspirit! Love the eucalyptus tree, I used to have a beautiful vase full of it, the smell is wonderful! This really does look like a maiden with her arms open wide! :) So fun!
Thanks so much @birdsinparadise. There are so many different types of eucalypts and they can look lovely in floral arrangements ~ Bringing the essence of the bushland into your home. My favourites are the blue/green more rounded leafed gums.
I'm so pleased that you can see the maiden in this photograph. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

I see her! This reminds me of one of those maidens that were carved in wood and attached to the front of a tall ship. Maybe she is not wanting to hug me but is rather throwing out her arms to protect this beautiful tree from harm. hehe. Like clouds, there is always something intriguing to discover. Beautiful poem too Alison!
That is wonderful! That secont section with the quote struck me like if it is something I needed to read...
That magic wand is very beautiful, those feathers give it the right touch <3
What amazing trees grow in Australia. I look at them and see that their trunks are not at all like those of our trees.
Thank you for your beautiful photo.
The Great Northern Walk has to be very impressive.
You wrote a beautiful article.
Thank you for sharing.
