Obviously your steem power was worth enough to upvote your own comment ... Many newbies simply don't understand that it's worth to upvote others instead themselves only: apart from getting curation reward there are some chances to receive upvotes in return. For example I upvoted you now (after you upvoted the article of @kobold-djawa), and even if I only used 1 % of my steem power you got 18 cents (imagine how many self-votes you had to do to get this amount ...).
Every upvote has at least a symbolic value, and why should anybody still make the effort to write high quality articles (and thus making Steemit interesting for potential investors) if anyway everybody only upvotes himself only?
