A New Paradigm for Politicals No more Left vs Right Now it's Top vs Bottom(Yes I'm a Top)

in #informationwar7 years ago (edited)

For quite some time I've been pondering how to address the false dichotomy presented to us of right vs left, how every four years or so we're presented with a choice between different lawyers and told that there is some kind difference if we elect the one or the other.
I laughed at the wave of euphoria that accompanied the election of Barrack Obama around the world. Noting that his election was a giant propaganda coup for the United States changing how the USA was perceived for no reason whatsoever. I'm laughing even harder now as everyone around me engages in non-stop, consecutive eight minute hates against Donald Trump again for no reason whatsoever!
The level of emotional involvement people have with the drama play enacted periodically astounds me. Like @everretmickey says right wing left wing, same bird, a vulture!
I noticed this growing up every four years or so the opposite party would be elected and half the people were happy that everything was finally going to be done right and the other half of the people were loudly complaining about the road to ruination that we were on and nothing was ever going to be the same. Flip, rinse, repeat ad nauseum!
Well today I saw a video that really lays out what's important
Not right vs left but top vs Bottom with bottom being any " ism" that cedes authoritarian control over you or your stuff vs the top being self-ownership, liberty, equality before the law and the right to be judged on merit alone.

Here is the video I hope you find it insightful!

This is my first post under the #informationwar tag I hope you enjoyed my irreverent take on the paradigm shift that we are witnessing, where words are starting to mean something again.
Long Live Truth!

Sort:

Though I agree that the only way to truly save the world is through freedom and voluntary cooperation those are unattainable ideals in a capitalistic society. As long as there is "ownership" there will be those that will exploit their fellow man in order to own more. YOU may be a good natured human being, but not everyone is and it only takes a few to amass money and power to subjugate the working class.

Such should be the role of government: to act on behalf of the people towards these corporations setting boundaries that ensure each person who contributes is properly taken care of and has a voice that is loud enough to say no.

If the free market worked WalMart would be out of business. Despite exploitative business practices we still shop there for better prices. That's not the government's fault, that's human greed.

Now, the government goes far beyond what is appropriate, imposing a number of laws that are based on emotion rather than practicality, but that is a problem that should be fixed through your vote, not the dismantling of government.

That said, should we as a society decide that capitalism has served it's purpose and we wish to move on to a different system then yes, do away with government and let the people be free. Just know how tenuous such a world would be, and how easily freedom can be stolen by tyrants.

You took the words right out of my mouth. To imagine changing our form of government or having no government at all imo is as fantasy uptopia as the Socialist fantasy. We've got to fix what we've already got. Our Constituion isn't our problem it's us straying 'from' it. We should use our energies to get the States and individual powers BACK and dismantle the unconstitutional unelected agencies which usurp Congress' power to legislate!

What are these unelected agencies? It sounds like something the US government would do, but I can't think of any examples.

Interestingly enough, I'm a democratic socialist myself. Although our methods differ, I think we see a lot of the same problems, many of which apply here in Canada albeit to a smaller scale. I see this as two main problems:

First, our political parties; Republicans and Democrats in the states, Conservatives and Liberals here, are beholden to special money interests. It's such a deep rooted issue, as the people currently elected don't want to vote money out of politics because that's what pays for their yachts. Mandating only small money donations or publicly funded (with VERY small budgets) elections I think are some solutions.

The second problem is the wealth gap. When you give a multi-millionair $50000 they probably won't use that money. It'll sit in a bank, or in investments that contribute minimally to our society. When that money is given to the poor and middle class it gets spent on necessities and maybe a few luxuries, injecting that money back into the economy to keep money flowing through the system. That's why I feel that having some social programs is the practical solution, single payer healthcare being the big debate in the US that I support (I'm pretty happy with our social programs in Canada).

Now, capital S socialism is a completely different beast and a system that is doomed to fail. As seen in Venezuela, if you try to eliminate capitalism your country is going to fall apart. You need a balance, which any successful nation has to some extent.

Ultimately though, whatever your view of what's best for the country, both of our countries need an overhaul of our governing bodies. I kind of lost hope in Trump when he filled his cabinet with millionaires, but it's early in his presidency. Perhaps he'll drain the swamp yet.

I'm talking agencies like the EPA (enviornment) & HHS (the new health services Obama created). These agencies contain 'unelected' appointed positions which Congress allows to create law & regulation. That is a power only Congress is 'supposed' to possess. Doesn't matter which Party has the power, neither seem to care. Until Trump. He is busy trying get undo alot of this power grab. So far...

Interesting. I previously through the EPA was an advisory council, which I think is very important to have; politicians aren't experts in health or the environment so they should have such agencies to offer guidance; however, the fact that they can actually pass regulations seems like a gross sidestepping of democracy.

Up north here we have Members of Parliament (MPs) form caucuses that go and seek out expert advice to bring back to parliament for discussion. To my knowledge, nothing gets passed at a federal or provincial level by anyone who is unelected.

I think there's an argument to be made that a country the size of the USA occasionally needs more decisive action than congress can provide, particularly with health and environmental issues, but one must ask where they draw the line between efficiency and liberty and what are the future implications of that choice. Sort of a question of how long it takes until you have a "Department Of Public Decency".

Hey @johnyliltoe have you heard of #teamcanada ?
We're taking over the interweb you find all our diabolical plans on discord at PAL server under teamcanada.

Yeah nothing wrong with an advisory board or something but no, these agencies actually create 'and' enforce law! Most of what was in the Obamacare bill rammed through Congress was a skeleton. The HHS then added to it as Katleen Sibelius saw fit. It's complete subversion of our Constitution. Like a bunch of mini kings with dominion over their particular area assigned to them. The EPA has been out of control. Thev've been starving farmlands of water to save the turtles & shit. They push the 'man-made global warming hoax and basically are extreme Left ideologs. You see all the real enviornmentalists pushed out. Like the founder of Greenpeace who abandoned the movement when he saw how bastardized it had become. These are the powers we Trumpsters are looking for him to help give back. The States are the ones who are supposed to decide what regulations are important to them.

See, that's where I'd have to disagree. The actions of the states affect those around them, being in such close proximity to each other. If New York decides to completely deregulate pollution it can spread to New Jersey and Pennsylvania. If Nevada decides they want to dump toxic waste into Lake Mead then that runs through the river systems of Arizona and California.

Ultimately the problems an individual state could cause is far wider reaching than just that independent state, so federal regulations are necessary. Still, that should be for congress to have the final say, not an appointed agency.

I'm sorry. I thought you were a fellow American...lol But I totally agree with your thinking. GO TRUMP!

That was a pretty good video. Are we an ISM. Steemitism?
edit: I will need to watch some of the others, one ISM he seemed to have not mentioned at all was Individualism.

I feel like that was what he was proposing for the Top individual rights, freedoms and ownership.

Yes, I believe he was , I was just looking for more, and am sure on some of the other videos he goes greater into depth.

It was titled the deadly Ism's of which he at least believes individualism isn't, lol

That's funny, I did not see that. : - }

is steemit for more or less government?

I think this aspect of steemit is 100% government. I, You, Him, Her, or It, can ell people what to do when we want to, we can order them to do things, we can make our own rules, we can break our own rules, we can be to the left or to the right or in the middle. We are all Presidents of steemit. So I am thinking we are for more government, just not the way most people look at it. We are, or seem to be, all Dictators, in our own little anarchist government. bleah, just my random moment of seeing the post right off the cuff remark.

what force can you bring to bear?

And fire is extinguished with water, and that in turn becomes steem. Uhh Steempower? Did i get it right? Do I win the prize? ohh, oh yeah reality strikes back, it's just a comment thread. no prizes.

Hahaha...i am sick and tired of this "donkey who want to be a horse theories", that put all of us as their balls, hard but empty inside and always ready to be kicked for their goals. I love this post and the video... long live the truth for long lasting love... regards...

My best regards to you as well and thank you for the compliment!

Brilliant I am in an instant fan!

Thanks for the vote of confidence, how did your mass video upload go?

I gave up at 700 videos. I was literally going cross eyed from all that cut and paste. They are all my original content and many of them are well I think they're interesting anyway. lol. im just gunna slowly do 10 or 20 of my vids a week and blog between them every few days. I'm kind of an economic refugee from YouTube at this point they really screwed me over big-time after the ad apocalypse! Political content of the nature that I produce isn't exactly the most advertiser friendly! YouTube has saw fit to give the larger advertising firms everything they ever wanted and more. Unfortunately that means screwing over all the "" edgy political content producers or at least starving us to making pennies where we were making dollars.
I really do like the Steam platform. I just found out about a couple months ago and I'm very impressed with the potential I see here! I like that it doesn't seem to be very censored I feel more free to say what's on my mind here! Any pointers would be greatly appreciated?

Well, comment cogently on posts you find interesting. Doing this will generate followers interested in what you have to say.

Making quality posts will also attract folks to follow you, and as you gain followers, you will gain a 'bully pulpit' that may allow you to disperse your philosophical considerations beyond your personal reach, and activate others to spread the same views you hold.

Don't beg for votes or follows, don't copy/past comments, and you'll be golden.

Give thought to whether you want to gain visibility (and rewards) by using the upvote sellers and other bots, like the Minnow Support Project.

Keep copwatching, and stay safe!

Not to worry about the whole not keeping cop watching I don't have any quit in me. Thank you for the valuable information!

You might also consider 'reserving' some of your more exciting footage for special posts, that may be able to gain more viewers. Some folks hold contests with small monetary rewards, or for temporarily delegated stakes. One way to do that and bear the cost is to use the 50/50 rewards option and offer the SBD portion of the author rewards for that post as the prizes.

Given the value of your work, you may also be able to find sponsors, or others that want to support what you do. One thing I've seen here is a strong tendency towards libertarian thought (as I note everywhere early adopters/technical folk congregate on the web), and you are likely to gain much support from people who strongly support what you do.

I strongly support what you do!

Badderasser man! thank you!

güzel

At first this seemed like a very subtle backhanded compliment, and then I thought it was support from a person who thought the character in Taxi Driver was someone to emulate(Problematic😜), now there is nothing wrong with staring in a mirror while trying out different iterations of "Are you looking at me!" for 30 minutes everyday.
I can't abide the stalking, assassination and I found his choice of a movie for the first date lacking in subtlety.
So far so good I've either got a cynical sarcastic jerk on my hands or an unhinged lunatic fan both good for hours of marvellous interweb fun.
Alas when I looked in your comments I found out that you told me I was beautiful and I thought it was just our little thing but NO you say that to everyone. I don't know what kind of cheap floozy you think I am but you can hit the road BUSTER!

That was perhaps the most inspiring reply to comment spam EVAH!

Thanks =D

Your welcome I try to have fun with it!

Defintions of what we are arguing about are necessary to critical thinking, and therefore when applied to politics become #informationwar, especially when people try to hide or blur their own or their opponents ideology

good post, but I'll come back as @stevescoins, and dispute a point ;>

I'll gird my loins in preparation, lol

oops, meant to comment on this earlier. gonna take a rain check tho

Apparently I got it all wrong, but this guy Knows what he's talking about,LOL

honestly; I haven't even checked your post yet...it just keeps getting set back

I'll skim this guy now (ugh, wish I didnt)

we only need to do leftism RIGHT this time

I had fun commenting!

THIS needs to be hardwired into people sponges -oops- brains

I talk Left/Right myself but I actually see it as pro-Constitution/anti-Constitution. That's about all it boils down to for me. Obama was 100% total anti-Constitution apparent from day one. But too many bought into the facade. Trump is neither what you would call Left or Right. I'm juding him entirely on his 'actions' and whether they give States back power or give Fed more. So far he's looking good turning back Obama's overreaches through executive mandates. And so far looks good as in his supporters having his back as in voting 'against' the establishment candidate instead inserting judge Moore into the vacant Senate seat. https://steemit.com/dtube/@julzee/c193myal

That's what this video is all about, either your for Individual Liberty or you for communal slavery.

Individual Liberty!!!! Except the Left redefines all these terms. To them individual liberty is having the right to have abortions. And for government to 'give' them stuff so that they can have liberty...lol Seriously! You can't even have a decent conversation with American Democrats anymore. They only see what's going to give them what they want. They never consider who they're taking from. Whoever has more doesn't deserve it in their minds.

They've turned into talking point spewers
Using their mouthes
Like sh*t filled sewers!

Nice! Rap or poem...lol

Sometimes they just pop out, lol

Here's one. NFL stands for 'no fans left'....lol

Michael Savage calls them the National Felons League. The players are either beating their wives or killing people.

We're still chuggin along here on your thread @capitalistcat9. Lol

Upvoted and followed! These are certainly the conversations that we need to be having. I do however get incredibly frustrated at the whole far-right - nazi equivalency we constantly hear spouted out. I don't understand how the Nationalist SOCIALIST party can be considered right wing but I'm happy to listen if somebody is willing to explain it to me :)

They are National socialists, Mussolini was a famous marxist. If you watch the video you will see that he places Nazi's right on the bottom with all the other Authoritarian socialist scum.

Yeah, I watched the vid. I just mean in general where do people even get the sense that Nazism is a right-wing ideology, when in fact they were socialists, which means they are Marxists which puts them on the left. It seems to me that the left has such a huge death toll in the last century that they've played a little game and pretended that Nazism is a right-wing ideology when in fact it is a form of Marxism (left-wing) just to try to make it look like the scales are somewhat balanced on the left and the right which simply isn't true. Marxism has killed HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS in the last century. I understand the point that you (and the video) are trying to make and appreciate it and agree to a large extent, however I would argue that conservatives tend to be more on the libertarian and pro-small government side of the spectrum at their core and that the left being more for big-government are authoritarian by definition.

I believe sargon made a video about this, but to paraphrase
the leftists lied about their former friends
Not just the marxists but also people like JFK

Interesting, I'll have to check it out!
