My introduction to Hive. The beginning of my new life

Hello everyone!!!!

After a long time, I've decided to start posting on Hive. From what I've seen, it seems like a pretty interesting ecosystem. But well, let's get to the point.

My name is John, I'm 28 years old, and I'm a shy guy who prefers staying at home playing video games rather than going out partying and getting drunk to death. I work at the airport as a ramp agent for a company called Ryanair (I'll act like you don't know it). My job involves assisting the plane both on departure and arrival. You know those sexy people in yellow vests you see from the plane? Yep, that's me😚

Do I like my job? Sometimes.

I like the job itself, but I feel like I don't fit in with my coworkers, and that frustrates me a lot🤥

I also lack any sense of fashion whatsoever. Once, my friends took me to a clothing store and forced me to buy more 'normal' clothes. It was okay, but I felt really weird, considering I always wear gym shirts in summer and hoodies in winter. Look at my smile there, it's like: "This is fucking wrong man"

They also made me cut that fluffy gorgeous hair. That should be punished🥺

Speaking of my friends, I went on vacation with them to a little country called Andorra la Vella. Is a very very very very very little country on the border of Spain and France. I live in Barcelona by the way, so the trip was like 3 hours or so.
We stayed at a camping for 3 days, in a bungalow. I never had been to one and it was a very good experience.
The reason for our trip was to go to "Naturlandia" an outdoor activity center when you can do well... lot's of activities.
From jumping off a diving board to ziplining to skiing. But the more famous activity was the Tobotron.
Here's a video I found on Youtube that ilustrates what it is:

It was very fun and the views while riding were unmatched. After that, we went to grab something to eat, and upon exiting, we saw some Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs that were roaming freely near the activities. There were 7/8 of them, and they just kept on eating. I asked my friend to take a photo of me next to the pig, and I swear to god it's the best picture I've ever taken of myself in my entire life. That smile is pure happiness

The wooden structure in the background is an ability course.

And that would be it for now. I'm very excited to discover what this ecosystem has to offer. I played Splinterlands back on the day and I didn't know it belonged to this ecosystem.
I hope to make new connections in this community.

Love you all 😈

Welcome to Hive and the world of blogging! I commend you for being here taking another shot at this since after the first time you were a bit discouraged.

You are who you are. Although your friends were trying to help you look more hip it is definitely true that if the change doesn’t come from yourself it won’t stick. You have to want that change and feel there’s a need for it. 🙂

I can attest to Hive not being like other social platforms. It’s not a one and done now I’m in type of experience. Many people, including myself, have been here since the beginning and it has taken several months to years to get to the point where your posts are consistently being read and supported. Hive is sort of like a “treat others how you want to be treated” type of deal. You already have the right idea and a really good plan with building up your voting power. I always tell others if you want support then take the time to support others.

Previously I shared my beginning experiences on how I was writing posts and waiting for people to find me. I quickly learned that those same people were doing the same thing. If we all wait, no one will be found. I literally spent a whole week only reading others posts, commenting, getting to know them and supporting them the best I could. Within weeks I had seen a tremendous change and growth in my support which has now become consistent due to my efforts.

I share more newbie tips on the first things to do when joining Hive if you want to have a read.

I wish you well on your journey here. I advise you take some time to browse those links shared with you by lovesniper above. As you read and meet new people of interests follow and keep up with them.

Oh and last thing, if you want to post in your native language please be sure to always have an English translation as well. 😉

Hello, @johndeeback! Welcome to Hive Blockchain and welcome to your new zone. I know that feeling. sometimes we are really doing in our comfort zone. so, I think this time is the right time for you to explore more about Hive, besides Splinterlands. it will be awesome. take your time.

Well, you can explore the communities that are suitable for your content. You can read about the communities supported by OCD in this post [https://peakd.com/@ocdb/ocd-communities-incubation-program-update-117]

The important thing is Hive is a bit different from other social media platforms since you are monetizing your blog. You can't include content that you don't own without sources. For more information, check this post: Why and How People Abuse and Plagiarise.
