The stars are alligning and the energy is shifting. Stacie D (@freedomtowrite) and I, The Yeti (@freedompoint)are jumping head first into the next phase of our lives. We are going to be hitting the road, hopefully all over the U.S., for an extended period of time. You might even say full time.
We have started this account @crookedroadhome to create a place to share our adventure. Because we have our own accounts, this will allow us to both combine our stories, videoes, and photography.

With the help of our partner IJ or @steemcafe we have co-founded the community Global Homestead Collective. We have established the tag #ghsc, and the account @ghscollective. While we are on the road, our RV will serve as the mobile headquarters of the GHSCollective.
We hope to travel from homestead to homestead, and meet as many people as possible. All the while sharing our love of life, and our experiences.
As our family learns to navigate new situations and scenarios, the cameras will be there. As we all learn to fit into an RV without stepping on each others toes.
God has created a beautiful world filled with incredible things, and it is time for us to go see them.

Thanks for the tag to this fantastic adventure. Whoa! Total bomb drop! I can't lie, I held my breath when you revealed that you're parents. We've built such an amazing community on Steemit, it's hard not to connect on all levels, including parenting. Letting the kids maintain their privacy is a wise decision, one I am sure they'll appreciate in the future. Ha ha ha! Oh man. I respond to people or have conversations in my head all the time. Then when they don't respond I'm wondering what the heck? until I realize I hadn't actually relayed the communication. I blame mom brain even though I am pretty sure I pulled those sweet moves before I had kids too. LOL! I still don't have Ginabot yet. Ha ha ha! That's one project I have been brutal at pursuing. We discovered https://steemworld.org/ where we can find all of our stats by adding @canadianrenegade after the / and that includes mentions. I try to check our mentions daily to make sure we're connecting with people. As for traveling west, do it! we need to meet in person. It's imperative. 😉 -Aimee

Wow! I was SO not prepared to hear that you guys are parents! LOL!! I literally did just laugh out loud. I guess you guys are just so vibrant and youthful and well, never mentioned the kiddos either so...🤣
Anyway, good luck on your adventure! It sounds like yours are older than mine were when we started. Ours were 8, 5, 2 and our first week in the trailer we found out I was expecting. We were also headed to N. Idaho with serious winters so we were under the gun in terms of trying to find a property to buy!
Off the top of my head, the first thing I'm thinking of is cooking in the RV. We gave up microwaves years ago, so we put a small toaster oven where the microwave in the trailer had been. Also, I used my Instant Pot pressure cookier constantly! I would use it as a skillet for frying up sausage, for quickly reheating foods and pressure cooker soups are so quick and easy.

We also gave up the microwave over a decade ago. In its place we use a large toaster/convection oven. We use the convection mode ALL the time. Have gone through 3 of them in the decade, just wore them out. A Hamilton Beach, same one each time.
Those ages were very similar to ours when we came to find property in Missouri! They were so brave and excited to go on an adventure. It's pretty sweet sharing them with our story, it adds a level a depth, ya know?
Thank you for the cooking tips! We also stopped using a microwave ages ago, and switched to a toaster oven. It however, is in poor shape and won't be making the trip. We had planned to pull it out amd use the place for storage.
Thank you for all the cooking tips! Those Instant Pot cookers are something! We had a friend who had one, but I can't remember much. Do you know how quickly it would cook beans? That's what we eat the most of, so we're trying to figure out the best way. Right now I use a regular crock pot, but I don't think I can plug that in for 4 hours.
Absolutely! When I started my Steemit journey I was determined to stay anonymous and never show my kids, but it didn't last long. 🤣 You guys totally blindsided me with that little announcement! Good job keeping it quiet so long!
We haven't eaten pinto beans in a while because of my daughter's gut issues, but we did make pinto & kidney beans successfully. Now we use it for lentils and it works like a dream.

Ok, hold the phone...you had 3 kids living with you that whole time in your tiny home?? Has anyone on steemit ever asked you why you didn’t have any kids? Because i have wanted to ask that before. But you know, that’s a personal question, so I never did.
Haha, yup, we all live in a tiny home together! Just the other day on @andysantics48 radio show at GHSC (she's going to read this now and laugh!) she asked if we slept upstairs in the loft, and I said no...we use it for storage, and my kids were right there laughing because I basically called them storage. I mean we use that space for stuff as well...but it's 98% theirs haha
But you know...everyone has been so amazing not to ask. I was confident people were curious because I would be curious too haha.
