Hi everyone. I'm the CEO and Co-founder of [Airbitz](https://airbitz.co). One of the most popular cross platform mobile wallets for bitcoin. I have a software engineering history in Silicon Valley doing visual computing at Nvidia but I've also been in the trenches working in small businesses for almost a decade as well. Cryptocurrencies and their ability to level the playing field really brings together my full spectrum of passion and experiences.
At Airbitz we build a top tier, cross platform mobile bitcoin wallet with a focus on hiding the complexity of securing private keys. I lead both the business and software development efforts at Airbitz and definitely fit the "technical CEO" type. We've also focused our efforts into providing secure key management for other client-side blockchain applications and have announced partnerships with Augur and Arcade City with more to follow.
Happy to see Steemit build an awesome new use for cryptocurrency that's been frequently talked about but not quite executed until now. I'm here to show some support for Steemit as I've been impressed with how Dan and crew have built the incentive model. I still have a hair of skepticism due to the complexity of it all but I'm excited to see a crypto based forum take over the junk we currently have.

I'd love to see my Steem wallet integrated with AirBitz somehow. Don't even know if that's possible, but I can already imagine using it to buy things when I'm out shopping with my Steem Dollars some day. Great to see you here, btw. :)
It's actually very possible and we'd love to see it as well. Steemit can incorporate the Airbitz Javascript SDK onto the website, and users could "login" using the Airbitz mobile app. This would allow Airbitz accounts to also contain Steemit keys. The same architecture that secures bitcoin in the Airbitz wallet can also secure your Steemit keys. Complete with PIN login, password recovery, One-Touch 2FA, etc.
Think of it as SingleSignOn for blockchain apps but unlike signing in with Google/FB, with Airbitz it's fully private, zero-knowledge client-side encrypted.
You should be seeing some cool announcements about this in the coming month.
Can I upvote this a million times? Wow, Paul, really thanks for responding and working on such an implementation. AirBitz is the absolute best mobile wallet out there, and I wouldn't recommend anything else to my friends. I know a lot of them will have some crypto for the first time in their lives thanks to Steemit. This gives me a lot of hope for their ability to easily and safely interact with it when it leaves the site. Thanks, again!
Haha. Thanks for the kudos. We'd love to open up a chat with @dan and see if they're open to the integration. I think it will make Steemit a bit less intimidating for end users and eliminate the scary long password people are required to save. Airbitz also supports a unique innovation in the crypto space, recoverable passwords that are still zero-knowledge. The integration can go a bit deeper in the future into actually using the funds directly from within our mobile wallet. Dan, if you're listening, let's chat.

What's dash all about, when I was researching it, it didn't look too special but I was looking at a bunch of them. can you give me a quick scope?
It's like Bitcoin with a proof-of-stake governance structure built on top, periodic budget as well as some privacy features (which are often argued over how safe they are, particularly by users from Monero who take a different approach to the same problem). Transactions are also very fast. Much of what Steem does seems like it could have been inspired by Dash, but right now I'm much more impressed by Steem.

Hey there Paul! I met you guys at BTCMiami in January 2015. Really nice presence you guys had there carrying the AirBitz brand. Great conversations as well! Your partner, Scott I think it was, tried to "make me a deal" while we were out at Bodega that Saturday night. "Tell you what, I'll make you a business proposition. I'll give you the idea and materials as long as I get 50%." He was determined to get me to say yet wouldn't agree to tell me anything about his so-called business plan until I agreed to it. Not sure what silly prank he had up his sleeve but I wasn't falling for it. Anyway, Hope to bump into you again in the future! Nice to see AirBitz here on Steemit!

Big fan of the AirBitz product and love the Geo location capabilities. I think it's a great way to bridge physical and virtual world (crypto). A little like augmented reality.

It covers mostly taking advantage of the Starbucks/Target discounts using Airbitz and also using Purse for Amazon. Do you have any insights of when Arcade City will be available.. maybe even on a global scale?
Based on Christopher David's comments at last week's San Diego Bitcoin Meetup, he projects a basic version will be available in September. It won't support sending or receiving crypto just yet but will have the Airbitz accounts system integrated. I'd project a month or two later to see actual bitcoin transactions supported in app, but don't quote me on that.

@arcadecity , I really like that work that your company is doing! I would suggest maybe making a new intro for yourself. I would guess that you'd get rewarded by the community here heaps better than your first post. As a suggestion, make a new re-introduction post along with pictures and proof that it's really you posting on one of your social media accounts.

Hello Paul,
I am an Airbitz newbie just starting to use bitcoin and learn how to use it effectively. I do have one question. Right now I generate bitcoin using CoinBase connected to my bank account and then transfer it to Airbitz. How do I eliminate that first step and just put value into Airbitz?

If you are in the US in one of the supported states, then you can buy bitcoin directly from within Airbitz using our integration with Glidera. Otherwise, you'll have to continue as you're doing now. Look out for more integrations with other exchange services in the future though.
