Introducing Myself

Hi #steemit Community and #followers. Its time I did the #introduceyourself thing.

My name is Chris.
As will become clearer through out this post, English is not my first language and I have a Very Eclectic set of skills and interests.

I first heard about #steemit via a post by Evan Pantazi #kyusho Dot com facebook page regarding Cryto Currency and providing future security for surviving any future potential economic or political upheaval. Thus here I am.

Primarily I Study and have a passion for Martial arts and Medicine. I am a Trained Acupuncturist, Modern biomedical Dry needling, Sports Massage and movement Therapist. My passion is Traumatology focusing on sports and other injuries caused by violent contact with the human organism.

Currently I work as a Researcher for an organisation I do not have Permission to talk about, Indeed there is an NDA in place to prevent such things from happening at this point. However Below is a sneaky example of some of the work I do, not related to anything currently being worked on at this organisation.

Warning, Do Not Traumatise this area on another human being unless you want to face a jail sentence . for illustrative and informational purposes only.

My Martial Arts training and Interests are at this point rooted in Traditional Shaolin Arts With more core study being in Wing Chun Kuen and Taoist arts. Focusing on Shaolin Dim Mak, Having trained both in China and here in Australia.

Outside of the above, I have a keen interest in Science of all kinds as well as take a deep enjoyment traveling and exploring. Part of my hobby interests are Photography (see pictures below) and art of various genre.

An example of some of my Fractal art. much more of this to come in a future post about fractal mathematics and life sciences.

In the future I plan on starting an Aquaponics farm and homestead with my wife for producing a majority of our food and allowing us to focus on the things that really matter. in the mean time I plan on creating quite a lot of Content on the above subjects. including health exercises, Martial training methods, art , science and more.

Please feel free to Follow, comment and make suggestions as I go along. I love to learn about peoples interests and ideas and will gladly follow you to see your evolving content.

~ Chris.

That's why the area is so ticklish! I can put my kids and grandkids on the ground lightly touching that area on the side of the neck. I promise not to punch anyone, well unless I'm fighting for my life or someone else's. Nice to meet you @pressurepointau!

Hey @reddust . be very careful with that. it can catastrophically lower the blood pressure, infact people have been known to knock themselves out just putting on a tie for work. could be nightmarish results with a child even lightly. Nice to meet you too! hope you enjoy

Omgoodness, I've been doing this for years! The kids love the tickling feeling. There are ticklespots all over the body that will cause the knees to buckle and explosive laughter. I'll stop😳

Its amazing the things children enjoy and get a giggle out of hahaha.
The area of the carotid artery middle of throat level (as in illustration) is also often used by surgeons in situations of extreme high blood pressure to help bring the blood pressure back down in emergency situation. The more you know!

I thought that area may be used to bring down blood pressure during emergency when you mentioned it....I found through tickling my kids over the years all sorts of pressure points. Depending on intention the touch can bring laughter or sadness from pain. I'm looking forward to more data on your research!

kids are such good teachers in their own right. Thank you again. i think you and your children will benefit from the things i am working on. Exciting times! once again @reddust an absolute pleasure to meet you :) !

Welcome to Steemit.
You seem like a very interesting person,
so I have now followed you.
All the best here!

Hello @canadian-coconut !, Thank you for the welcome and the kind words! I have followed you in return. your posts on raising children are of great interest looking forward to further posts from you!.

I'm very glad to have you on Steemit. Welcome! Looking forward to your future contributions.

Thankyou! .I am quite a fan of the late @jamesallen 's work. very nice to see someone else appreciating it and sharing it with the world.

I'm glad to read that you are a fan of his work. He has certainly been an inspiration to me.

I purchased the audiobook of 'As A Man Thinketh' on Audible and I've listened to it at least 200 times over the years. I've since purchased the audiobook 'Eight Pillars of Prosperity' and I'm working to bring those lessons into my life now.

They are both fantastic books !. im looking forward to hearing about any effects on your life and thinking that living his work has bought into your life.

Eventually I would like to add those thoughts to my daily meditations posts. Or perhaps post separately. I began that way, but I found posting those thoughts daily was difficult to do within my time constraints. Certainly a once a week post would be a good goal.

I understand completely, my work time constrains also impede me from posting with depth that that the subjects i wish to write about deserve. once a week is a fair goal.

Thank you for the mention ~Chris... I wish you well here.

I also have and do occasionally write on the martial aspects as well, private message me when time avails.

Thank you and you are welcome of course.
Private messaging you via FB now. Im still at a loss regarding most of the functions here. I am not as tech savy as i would like.

upvoted you and its great to read all your posts because it adds a great skills and knowledge in myself, already followed you and inspired from your posts, hope that you also follow me back so that it will be a great pleasure for me and a big contribution from ur side for me , thanks kindly follow me aswell @shanzaylizay

Welcome abroad! As I future MD I really aprreciate your job as movement Therapist. Have fun! xX

Thanks @xxvjs . Good luck with your studies!

hi @pressurepointau Chirs! Your article is really interesting and your Bottle Brush Flower reminded me of what I saw in Toowoomba back in 2003!
Fond memories those were. :)
I find your topics are going to be really interesting especially for the health and exercise therapy as my dad is suffering Foot Drop Syndrome (I am not sure if you have heard of it) and the doctors here just ask him to keep moving with cycling exercises and he already lost his thumbs mobility.
There isn't much acupuncture can do now as my dad had visited quite a number of sensei.
I will follow your profile to see more future posts of yours.
For me, I too am quite new to Steemit and right now I am testing new topics like introducing the Chinese characters discovery. Since you know Weng Chun and other Chinese martial arts, I am pretty sure you recognise Chinese characters as well; so it would be a great honour if you would follow my profile too and do give some feedback on what you think of my posts as well.
Take care and wish you success here in Steemit!

Followed! @littlenewthings . Did you mean Foot Drop syndrome ? , if so yes it's one of those things that Acupuncture has little effect on. but that is one of the reasons i am still studying. There are so many pathologies and disorders we really do not understand very well at all. wishing your father all the best in finding a successful treatment or management for it. Toowomba, it has been a long time since i was there last!. such a nice place to visit.

Chinese language has to be one of the most difficult things i have studied. considering there are 4000 characters that a child must know by the end of their schooling. its quite a challenge for an adult to study. But thoroughly interesting!

Yes, Foot Drop Syndrome (I have rectified it. Thanks @pressurepointau ). The doctor only told my dad to "live happily, and take your Vit B"
Yes, I used to really hated memorising Chinese Characters, but up till the recent years I have discovered this ancient language is really more than meets the eye. Every word was articulately designed to the intended description and expression, which now really make more sense and excitement for me. I have posted 3 posts now and do let me know how you feel in my explanation and will that encourage you to learn more (or even encourage others to learn)

welcome to steemit :) I'm also new here

Thank you @mylene i have followed you.

I am @digital-gypsy - nice to meet you!:)
Enjoy your time here & Good Luck

Thank you @digital-gypsy ! nice to meet you also and thank you for the kind wishes. i will indeed try my hardest to get the most enjoyment and learning out of this interesting platform.

so much things to do and to look into, its really interesting here, I agree :)
all the best for your efforts !

Nice to meet you Chris! I too am a martial artist, and have black belts in both Taekwon Do and Wu Wei Gung Fu. Wu Wei Gung Fu has tap roots in Jeet Kune Do (or Wing Chun). My Sifu was Joseph Cowles, who studied under Bruce Lee and was also a good friend of him. Until his passing a couple of years ago, he was still getting cards from Linda Lee. :)
I was teaching clear up until last spring but have since retired, focusing more on our more self sufficent, homestead life. Since I still have my studio though, I may consider holding a self defense class from time to time for women and children.
Anyway, nice to meet you and lovely photos! ~Heidi (AKA - Mrs. Rain)

Wow Heidi! Im sure i have seen video footage of your sifu before.. one of my favorite set of books sitting right next to me in my bookcase is Bruce Lee's Tao of Jeet kuen do and his 4 volume fighting method books published via Ohara publishing. the JKD concept is very inspiring to me and my over all goals in training martial arts skills. The homesteading side of things is of equal interest to me as well ! i have followed you and am greatly looking forward to seeing your future content. im very glad to have met you on here and thank you again for the lovely compliment on my photos. :) ~ Chris.

You probably have seen videos of him, he was also in Black Belt magazine several times. He was a wonderful man, very humble and always had great stories to tell of Bruce Lee. He passed away a few years ago, I think he was 85. We went to visit him in the hospital and he was trying to show my husband a good take down move to use on me! hahaha!

Hahaha, A passionate teacher right to the end. Those are some very valuable memories, Heidi. I am Glad to have been able to meet you here. your feed back and experiences will be of great interest to me as i work through posting my content. Varied perspectives are , to me some of the greatest tools for learning more about the things i love.

I am very pleased as well and looking forward to more great interactions :D

Welcome to Steem! In my physician practice I hope to use osteopathic manipulation, which I learned in medical school. Acupuncture and osteopathic trigger points actually correlated with one another by over 90 some percent in one study I read. Pretty interesting. Look forward to hearing more.

Thank you @tfeldman !, the Travell & Simons' Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction: The Trigger Point Manual 2 volume set are some of my most used reference books in the last 12 months. There are indeed a great many correlations between the two systems locations. i have followed you and look forward to reading some of your thoughts in the future.

Following you too!

Welcome Chris! Beautiful photos

Thank you ! @annhoyblog I am looking forward to being able to do more as time permits.

greetings! dim mak you say.. * puts on armour *. :)
have you ever heard of john chang over in java? very interesting guy you might like to look into if you haven't already.

Mo pai is an intense sounding system. the footage of him and the books by Dana kostas and his other students where very interesting. not the sort of thing i would want to mess with without a very good teacher. from what i understand of it, the system has a habit of killing or causing the premature death of its practitioners at times. Funnily a book by Jin Jing zhong in 1934 called " dain xue shu, Skill of acting on acupoints", Talks about developing similar skills in one section. very cool stuff. well beyond me. but interesting to ponder.

yes, I got the sense when I read that book that they were compressing energy in dangerous ways - hence the ability to create explosive effects (literally). I am not surprised that people die using the techniques as he (and apparently his teachers) have not demonstrated the necessary heart presence and internal balance that is required to proceed without problems.
definitely one of the most timely topics on earth right now!

Absolutely ! . A rather strong excess of yang in the dantian. . Heat in the core. To think the original word for Qi translated as "No fire" - according to author and teacher of shaolin martial arts Dr yang jwing ming. Mo pai quite literally created a rather large fire in the practitioner. I couldn't agree more !.

very good :)
over-reliance on yang is the main killer on earth - along with the denial of the yin. may we all come to balance!

i think you and I are going to have some interesting talks in the future. again i am in total agreement. :)

excellent! I will consider removing my body armour in your vicinity.. at some point in the future. :)

Welcome chris, you can follow me @krisosa .
Thanks.

Amazing eye for photography, love the B&W .. Interesting array of interests. I too am fascinated by fractals, I have a suspicion they lead to deeper answers to the mysteries of life, just a hunch!

Thank you @bitcoinforblonds! agreed i also have that feeling. the more physics and biology i have studied the more i am thinking that fractal mathematics play a huge part in what is "us" as part of the universe and existence at large. mind bending stuff really !
