Guard your passwords carefully, and only publish with the posting key,
Use your active key only for wallet transactions, keychain and steemconnect,
The master password is only used to reset compromised passwords,
DO NOT lose your passwords; copy and store offline,
Do not publish other people's work, be it photos or written, without credit,
be sure to source all of your work, even if it is your own.
An introduceyourself tag is used only once, and
When you open your steemit.com, in the upper right corner of the page there are 3 bars. Click on those, and then on the "welcome", and you will get a lot of reading material that will help you.
DoNOTopen any links in memos or comments that you do not know who they belong to. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is, so the old saying goes. There is nothing free here.

I have a materials science/chemistry background and work at a company that manufacturers equipment using chemical analysis (chromatography, atomic absorption, thermal analysis etc), look forward to seeing more of you around here!
Thank you @nickyhavey! I majored in Comp Info Systems with a focus in Web Development after my first degree. I'm not a professional web developer, but I have the knowledge and drive to find what I need. My educational pipeline was through online education so I'm used to the blogging format. Everything seems really similar.
I used chromatography on a regular basis for the water chem analysis I did at work. I mostly work in Radiation Health now so I'm not currently dabbling in chemistry. Look forward to speaking with you again later. Have a great weekend?
Haha yea I had a steep learning curve with the HTML language but I seem to be doing OK with it now so I'm sure you'll pick it up in no time!
Ah yes, we sell a lot in to the water treatment industry in my company so it sounds like we have familiar ground there! We have a few customers that are nuclear research companies as well where our machines are analysing the waste produced but all important stuff!

aah I just found this :-) You have had a fascinating career. That must have been sad to say goodbye to the navy life after all that time. I have tons of respect for people like you who give up so much for the rest of their communities. Did you end up moving to the East coast after all?
Oh yeah. I forgot about this post. Thanks. I was fortunate that I was able to translate the career I had in the military to civilian life. It wasn't sad at all to leave. The military can push you outside your limits. The goal was the mission or mission support. A personal life was an allowance. They don't tell you that when you join.
I grew up on the east coast, but I didn't move there after leaving the Navy. I took a nomadic life for a spell. Moved between states until settling in California and getting married with someone I grew up with on the East Coast. Weird how that worked out. We're planning another move though once my company shuts down in a couple of years. It will be another interesting trip.
I hear you re the Navy. I've always wondered how military families cope, but then I guess especially in the States, it is such a patriotic way of life and service in the armed forces is so highly respected that self-sacrifice is the norm. Sounds like a life well lived and lived well though :-) I'm pleased for you that you were able to move on and grab your personal life in abundance. Keep adventuring Felix. So much life left to live and sounds like many more adventures to be had😊
