I do agree with the majority of the beliefs found in Stoicism. In particular, I agree wholeheartedly with the ideas that "virtue is sufficient for happiness", or that the wisest men of all are those who are immune to the misfortunes of the world. That being said, I have a love-hate relationship with the later iterations of stoicism where it ties in with some of the more "Desert Father-y" interpretations - e.g. a person should rid themselves of all passion, emotion, and basically become a crumbled ascetic leaf left to the mercy of the wind.
