Hey everyone,
I’m Yasmine and i’m brand new to steemit! About 7 hours old in fact.
In 2016 I moved to Asia for the second time, this time to start my own fashion label, HUX. Now I split my time between Malaysia and London.
I’m here to blog honestly about the realities of having your own business, health, travel and all the other things which shape my life as a small business owner. Also i'm here to support other entrepreneurs and women in business, because I have a huge respect for everyone who is a creator of some kind. After all, we are stronger together!

What's my goal?
My label, HUX, produces handmade products in a socially responsible way. My goal is to help reshape the fashion industry with long-lasting, one-of-a-kind products and make them available at affordable prices.
Since I was a kid, i've always loved unique designs and had an eye for extraordinary things, but I didn’t have a lot of money to splash on designer labels so instead I would spend time hunting at car bootsales or in vintage stores for truly unique things. I wanted great designs to be accessible to me so I could stand out look from everyone else - I suppose that's where HUX came from.

Why steemit?
I was introduced to steemit by Alla from @allasyummyfood - if you haven’t checked out her mouth-watering recipes, on everything from gluten free brownies to potato & zucchini fritters, you definitely should!
I love the idea of steemit - a platform full of creators supporting each other and one that truly recognises the input of it's members. Thanks for having me, steemit!

@yasminep, pleasure is all mine. Glad to know that you kinda took out time and checked my profile. It's basically I am trying to be versatile in my offerings. My reach is limited and within that, I m trying to create posts for the platform. I have not been able to get that position where My posts are able to reach out to the masses but, I believe, that desire of mine will be taken care of sooner or later.
Keep at it. From what I understand, consistently good, original content is what wins on this platform. So keep creating!

Wow! I always wanted to try one of those meditation retreats. Was it silent meditation? They have them here in Malaysia. Where did you do yours, if you don't mind me asking?
Yasmin, yes, it was a five day silent meditation & yoga retreat, the longest I have ever been on and I loved it! The hardest part was on my body, sitting in meditation posture. I did it at Joshua Tree Retreat Centre in California USA

Wow that's so cool! I was just reading an article the other day about how many billions of tons of clothing people throw out a year. It's insane, not to mention that a lot of clothing is made from plastic-type materials, which further damages the environment if it ends up in say, the ocean or what not. Sustainable is the future for sure! That's so cool!
I can't say I'm much into fashion. I'm a comedian and a singer. I wear mom leggings and old t-shirts haha, but I secretly envision having an amazing closet, but right now, since I do have to wear fancy clothes when I perform, I am caught in a terrible world of either respectable looking or homeless haha.
I quite look forward to your blog posts, and am especially curious as to how climbing a mountain changed your business! ;) Good luck on here, but from the looks of your first post, you probably don't need it!
I would take mom leggings and old t-shirts over anything else. Except maybe kaftans. Kaftans are king. Really appreciate you taking the time to write such a long and meaningful post. The amount of wastage from fashion is pretty shocking and really ought to be more of a regular and open conversation. Hopefully my posts will inspire you in some way.
