Hello everyone, and welcome to this post of mine. My very first Steemit post.
Now, guess we should start by being polite. Let me introduce myself.
My name is Zenaida, but everyone calls me Zena.
I'm 24 years old, I'm from Venezuela, and I'm an English teacher (well, an EFL - English as a Foreing Language- teacher), currently working at one of the universities on my city - UPEL (the one I graduated from).
I also have no idea what to do with my life.
Yes, you read that right.
I have no clue what to do with my life at the moment, call it early mid-life crisis, call it a depressive episode, or call it the "I graduated in a country where you can't do shit with your title" syndrome.
Now, you'll see. I love my country. I love its culture, people, history, weather and blah, blah, blah, you know the drill. But I feel like there's barely any opportunities for young people like me to succeed and have their dreams fulfilled (unless you work, I don't know, 4 jobs or something). I honestly feel so far away from my dreams here, but at the same time I don't want to go to another country like many other people have done already (but that sentiment is going to be kept for another post).
And what are my dreams, you ask?
Well, surprisingly enough they have NOTHING to do with english teaching. While I LOVE being in a classroom and helping people learn a new skill (while also helping them believe in themselves and all that jazz), I also have another love in my life, and that is BAKING.
Yes! Baking! I ABSOLUTELY love baking cakes, cookies, and sometimes I'll venture myself to bake a bread or two. And one of my biggest dreams is to open up a little café where I can sell my creations, while I can house little art shows, open mics and poetry readings! I know... Cheesy, but my heart swoons at the thought of it.
Other interests of mine include yoga, eating healthy (or trying to), and cats. I could not leave the cats behind.
My Steemit cherry
Remember how I mentioned I had no idea of what to do with my life?
Well, this is where Steemit comes into play.
I'm starting this adventure on Steemit with an open heart, with an open mind, and with a lot of anxiety (just like when I lost my virginity LOOOOOOOOL!) but eager to learn and to find a community where I can feel accepted and safe. Also hoping that someone finds my little ramblings interesting enough.
I'm begginning this new chapter of my life thanks to a good friend of mine called @agnikana and she has been pushing me to write something in here, but I was honestly too nervous, and I was acting just like I do when I get nervous... Ignoring everything and doing something else. But tonight I felt the pang in my chest to start creating something, and start opening my way through the crowded streets of this website. After all, it might help me get some direction about my life and where I'm headed to next. I would love to keep teaching, but if things go a different route, then I'll accept that and ride the wave life puts in my way.
I still have a lot of things to learn, I still have a long way ahead of me, but I am taking this challenge, this opportunity that life presents me, and maybe I'll discover something new about myself while doing so.

Hahaha thank you! And yes, I have. But money is tight and emigrating costs A LOT in here. It's a complicated feeling, to be honest, because I also don't wanna leave my family behind. But on the other hand, I've got almost no chance of growing here sigh... it's a complicated relationship hahahh.
