Hello, Hive Community!
Happy to introduce myself. My name is Caroline, a New Mexico native who's returned to my home state after several years traveling around our beautiful planet. Here in the desert I'm developing a permaculture and regenerative gardening project (challenging!). I'll be posting more about that: how people worldwide are building vibrant soil life to optimize plant health while pulling carbon out of the atmosphere. How boss is that???
I discovered Hive after hearing people like Raoul Pal and Chris Coney discuss social media built on the blockchain. I'm excited about how blockchain technology is disrupting and revolutionizing pretty much every aspect of our lives. The next ten years are going to be exciting, and I'm hoping Hive will be a big part of the changes!
I'm of course interested in the subjects I've listed in my profile. For one, empathic communication is, I believe, essential if our emotional selves are gonna catch up with our technologies. Generally, I'm interested in solutions-oriented messaging, learning about crypto and all topics that move us forward on the planet.
This is me awhile back while traveling in Thailand.

Welcome to Hive @zialuna I'm sure you will be happy here. Thanks for sharing, looking forward to your future posts.
Hi there, and thanks for the welcome, @artywink. I will check out your blog... sounds like you're a creator. I've mostly been doing home remodeling and gardening as a creative expression lately... thinking of what I might get into after the house is more complete. Earth art is appealing to me... like (think his name is) Andy Goldsworthy. Are you familiar with him?
Welcome!
What a lovely face you have :)
Thank you for sharing your true form.
Looking forward to learning more about your permaculture project...
Hi Caroline, we might not have so much in common except of the travelling and interest in crypto, but it looks like we're going to find some fascinating content here! Welcome and good luck in Hive!
Thanks! Lots on offer here. No way to explore it all!
Welcome to Hive, @zialuna . (What a cool name!) Boy, are you in for a ride... but in a good way. Imagine social media where you hold the reins (of a team of very stubborn mules crossing rough terrain, that's for sure, but at least it's not you who's being driven). Okay, I'll stop with the obscure analogies here. You'll find out for yourself, as there are tons of new things to learn, from crypto tokens to managing communities.
Two things that caught my attention in your description were New Mexico and Permaculture. I just love your state, though I never actually lived there. Interestingly, I did my PDC there (on a ranch not far from Las Vegas), and later the Earthship academy in Taos. As you can see, it's the natural building aspect in Permaculture that I've been pursuing most visibly. But even though I live in Mexico City (for the most part), I'm no stranger to growing soil, using urban vermicomposting, though the scale in hardly comparable to a farm or a garden.
So yeah, I'm looking forward to reading more of your posts, about whichever topic you may want to write about. Until then, have a !BEER 😁 (It's a tip token. If you hold sufficient you can pass out one every day I think.)
You need to stake more BEER (24 staked BEER allows you to call BEER one time per day)
I love Mexico. Almost settled there a few years ago, then flipped and ended up here. I was mostly in some mountain villages in Oaxaca (and in Oaxaca City, which I enjoyed). I'm missing the paisano cultures of the different countries visited in my five years of travel. The !BEER!Thanks for your welcoming comments, @stortebeker. Glad to know of your interest in permaculture and green building! The earthships outside of Taos are interesting. I visited Dennis Weaver's earthship in Ridgeway, CO, years ago. It was interesting watching worshipful petitioners grovel around him!
Sorry, you don't have enough staked BEER in your account. You need 24 BEER in your virtual fridge to give some of your BEER to others. To view or trade BEER go to hive-engine.com
Oh yes... Dennis Weaver, groveling worshipers, the whole Biotechture company... those are the aspects of Earthships I really could care less about! Still, it's part of it all, which is why prefer Earthship INSPIRED stuff.
Yeay to the mountains of Oaxaca! I'm actually thinking of checking out San Mateo pretty soon. Heard lots of great things about it.
Oh, well! You should definitely check out San Sebastian Rio Hondo, which is near San Mateo. Quite a gathering of expats there, doing some good things. Sadly, there's been a lot of deforestation in that area of late. I also stayed for awhile in Capulalpam, another very beautiful mountain pueblo SE of Oaxaca (near Ixtlan de Juarez). So many beautiful places!
Yes, I've heard of San Sebastian, though never visited. It's also up there in the San José del Pacifico area. Deforestation? That only calls for REforestation, so again an opportunity for doing good things. However, Capulalpam I've never heard of, so I may go to check it out some (other) time.
Welcome to Hive. This is a very interesting place. Enjoyed your read and looking forward to seeing more.
