God made a dramatic statement in Jerusalem as Jesus Christ died. By His mighty hand He ripped the thirty-foot-long, heavy, embroidered drapes of the Holy of Holies into two pieces, from top to bottom, declaring open access to God (Matthew 27,51). Better, it signified that the God of the Temple was out and about as the God of the whole earth, not to be associated with one earthly spot, not even Jerusalem. “You will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father,” Jesus said (John 4:21); He would be wherever we are in undifferentiating faithfulness. “If anyone loves me … my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our home with him” (John14:23). God bless you today, wherever you are.
