Having carefully observed the policies laid forth by the Moon Administration it is clearly evident that as all predecessors in politics, they seek the interest of the few ex protestors and not the people of the country. Moon administration has been trying to stimulate the economy driven by consumption, increasing the min wage in double digits without understanding the very basics of economy. We are slowly witnessing mom and pop stores and small and mid sized companies being forced to lay off people. Excessive fiscal policies are put in place as source of income for this administration that has been focusing too much on North Korea and welfare. They have even forced the maximum number of hours one can work per week. All in an effort force corporates to increase employment. Have they not seem what has happened in France when they put such measures in place? The administartion is run by idiots who have absolutely no background. And the cabinet members who are filled with ex protestors with rather well off backfround who has never worked getting allowances from their parents.
Now this adminstration from the start has proclaimed that the nuclear reactors will no longer be used and instead coal generators to meet the energy demand of the nation. Why? Fukushima was a great opportunity for them to disguise their true intention of importing North Korean coal. This is a violation of the UN resolution that has been put in place. Everyday local media puts some sort of news on North Korea. Something that did not happen for decades. Even during the Sunshine policy era it was not like this.
Street chatter that this government is a puppet state if North Korea does not surprise me any more. Radical they might be and they might have such high ratings. But this is just too surreal. Outcome is obvious.
SELL KOREA!
I'm not a fan of the government, it's too populist for my liking and their foreign, energy, unification, and economic policies are not realistic. But the approval rating of the current president is more than the combined total of the last 3. I'm not sure what it will be at when he is done with his plans. After the dismal outcomes from the last 3 presidencies, I really hope he learns from the past and decides to actually try to mend serious political wounds in this country, but I strongly doubt any reconciliation given the current court cases against his former rivals.
I personally have doubts about the approval rating to be honest. I know that recently with the widespread SNS and mobile platforms, there are many fanatical followers. The group of fanatical followers are mostly the lower and middle class working class or those that are unemployed. Populist policies, such as minimum wage and DPRK related policies looks good on the outside, until people start to actually look at their bank accounts. Real estate policies to crush housing prices will back fire eventually.
Fiscal measures are excessive in my personal view right now. The entire administration is headed by incompetent idiots that frequently changes statements if things do not go as planned. Korean economy itself is at a cross road right now. If you have ever bothered looking at the Korean media, one notices that over 50% of the articles are related with North Korea. The ride on the Moon vessel is very similar of his boss, the president that committed suicide following DA interrogation.
