Mountains, Peaks and Pastures, Summer in Austria

When the weather is hot here in Summer, I often like to go hiking and flee from the hot temperatures. To do this, I either go and enjoy an afternoon at the lake swimming or with hiking in the mountains where the weather is not that hot. The last time I underestimated the sun a little bit and I got a sunburn from the harsh sun that can be a lot stronger in the mountains. But due to the lower temperatures on higher altitude, it is a lot easier to get a sunburn.

What I also like when you are is still some snow on the mountain tops or when you can see the glaciers where the permanent Ice looks so refreshing and cold, even though it is hot some hundred meters lower.

Mountains with a little bit of snow and Ice are a lot more interesting to take pictures of. At least this is my opinion. Last week I have been on a holiday in the Austrian mountains and I already showed you some pictures of this holiday, but I am sure I still have a lot of pictures that I will show you in the future from this trip. These pictures here are from a trip to May 2018 when I visited the Austrian mountains for some hiking with a girlfriend and her children.

In early summer the grass is still very green and it always looks so "fresh". I really enjoy this every time and up there I can enjoy a "second spring" for flowers and other plants that grow in this height way later than in the plains.
