hmmmmmm... LOVING the idea of "delegated cards" being opened in rewards.

The main reason I quit playing originally (round about the time they introduced rewards edition vs regular edition drops in quests/seasons) was exactly that "It is highly frustrating for new players to grind for an hour or more to complete a daily quests and open a potion or < 10 DEC in the reward chest"

... I'm definitely not dissing the dev team... they've created an immense amount of wealth for a fair number of people (that were willing to spend a ton of $$$)... but this is definitely not a game for "dipping one's toes into".

The game had (still has) a "pay-to-play" feel... I'm all for the "pay-to-win" model... but the pay-to-play model creates a lot of disillusionment & disappointment and then abandonment (IMHO of course ;-)). The game is AWESOME, but I'm not prepared to spend $100s every other week just to stay competitive, let alone advance in the ranks.

I'd be very interested in the number of "active players" in 6 months from now... buying a spellbook is easy & attractive enough... but then grinding hours and hours to get 'nowhere' in the ranks isn't fun at all and those that can't (or don't want to) keep investing $100s every month will soon disappear... until the SL team comes up with another bomb in a year or two and we all kick ourselves and wish we had 'stuck with it' :P

Thank you for your elaborate reply. There are couple of things the team will have to consider to implement this though.

1. Which edition of cards should be given out in delegation rewards
2. How many cards should the team reserve and hold for the delegation
   but that all can be worked out.

Yeah... I'm thinking these 'delegated rewards' would work the same way as the spellbook - i.e. those cards are "pretend" and/or never enter circulation, so there could be an 'unlimited' number of them.

but yeah... great idea, probably needs a few mechanic tweaks / hidden impacts that aren't immediately apparent.

I was thinking that the team reserves 10% of the remaining print number to be reserved for delegation. That 10% will be reviewed every 2 weeks and will diminish and even end. That way you get a feel of reward cards being out of print too.
