A group of Liberlanders have come together to launch a cubesat programme, aiming to kickstart a space programme that is not hindered by red tape, and open to all.
13 November 2024, Jefferson Square, Liberland; The Free Republic of Liberland has officially launched its ambitious space programme today, positioning the nation at the forefront of technological advancement and global collaboration. Initiated by Samuela Davidova, Liberland’s Spokesperson, and endorsed by President Vít Jedlička, this forward-thinking initiative is designed to break down bureaucratic barriers and promote decentralized space exploration. With Rod Mamin, the newly appointed Adviser to the Liberland President for the Space Programme and founder of LunCo, leading the way, the programme aims to encourage global partnerships and drive innovation in space, opening up new opportunities for progress and freedom.
At the heart of this mission is the ambition to create an open-source, collaborative space programme that aligns with Liberland's core values of individual freedom, transparency, and minimal government interference. The programme is driven by the belief that space exploration should not be hindered by bureaucratic red tape but instead should be open to global participation, driving innovation and economic growth.
“We view space exploration as a fundamental opportunity for shaping the future,” said Vít Jedlička, President of Liberland. “With this programme, Liberland is taking a bold step forward, showing how decentralization can break down traditional barriers and unlock unprecedented opportunities for innovation and collaboration. We’re creating an open platform where nations and private entities can come together, work freely, and drive progress without the constraints of bureaucracy.”
The Liberland Space Programme and community will serve as a hub for visionary thinkers, engineers, and scientists from across the globe. In partnership with private industry and international stakeholders, the programme seeks to accelerate the development of decentralized, pro-freedom solutions in the space industry.
Rod Mamin, Founder of LunCo and expert space systems engineer, has been appointed as the adviser for Liberland’s space programme by President Jedlička. With his extensive experience, Mamin shares Liberland's bold vision for space exploration. He stated, “Space exploration has the power to reshape economies and drive technological advancement. Liberland’s decentralized and collaborative approach is key to unlocking this potential, creating opportunities for innovation and progress that benefit globally.”
Liberland’s space programme is a strategic move to reinforce the nation’s forward-looking leadership and boost its global standing. Through innovation and collaboration, Liberland is securing its place on the international space stage.
“By launching a decentralized, free-market space programme, Liberland is unlocking new opportunities for global collaboration, investment, and innovation,” said Samuela Davidova, Spokesperson for Liberland. “This initiative will drive progress across industries worldwide and pave the way for a future where space exploration is more accessible to all.”
Liberland is now actively seeking volunteers and partners to support the mission and contribute to its vision. Those interested in joining the Liberland Space Working Group can contact the programme at [email protected] for further information.
